The Makita GRU03 string trimmer uses a brushless motor to deliver power equivalent to a 30cc gas string trimmer. It features a variable speed trigger that lets you switch between three speed settings (4600, 5500, and 7000 RPM).


Makita also employs its Automatic Torque Drive Technology in this string trimmer. This mode automatically shifts between low and high speed to conserve runtime and add power where needed.
