Holiday Bargain: Milwaukee 80-Piece Impact Driver Bit Set

There’s a lot more to the latest Milwaukee impact driver bit sets than what the original Shockwave sets had to offer. I’m walking you through the design and technology of the latest generation, plus I’ll share the set that’s priced to make the perfect last-minute Christmas gift.

Innovative Storage Upgrade

One of the most noticeable differences in today’s Milwaukee Shockwave Impact Duty bits is what holds them.

As usual, all of the bits are stored inside a locking hard-shell case. However, Milwaukee designed the case to perfectly fit inside Packout organizers, letting Packout users store it alongside the rest of their tools and accessories.

Another feature I appreciate is the on-tool bit storage. Each accessory row in this set can be detached from the case and fastened onto your M12 and M18 power tools. While it requires sacrificing your tool’s belt clip, it means you can store your most commonly used bits right on your tool for easy access.

Milwaukee’s High-Value 80-Piece Impact Driver Bit Set

We got our hands on the 80-piece set. So, what does it have going for it besides innovative storage?

Milwaukee equipped each piece with several technologies to ensure high durability, helping you get the most out of your bit.

  • Wear Guard Tip: Delivers increased wear resistance, prolonging bit life.
  • Shock Zone: Absorbs peak torque and prevents bit breaking.
  • Custom Alloy76: Customized steel and heat treatment provide up to 50X bit life.

Milwaukee is constantly refining their technologies, and while the names might be familiar, there were new tweaks to improve them earlier in 2025. Together, these updated design elements offer better durability and high performance when used with your impact driver.

A Price You Can’t Ignore

This 80-piece set normally retails for $45, but right now, it’s available for a very reasonable $25. It includes the components spelled out above, all enclosed in a locking hard-shell case.

Milwaukee also offers other Shockwave Impact Duty bit sets, ranging in size from 10 pieces ($16) to 200 pieces ($160), so there’s a set for everyone. However, the 80-piece is clearly the best value at the moment.

Should You Buy It?

At $25, there really isn’t a reason not to have this set on hand. I like the hard shell design that keeps everything together, and the tool-attachable accessory rows offer an extra layer of hands-on convenience. Plus, Packout compatibility is a nice upgrade from previous bit set case designs.

Keep in mind, these bits are designed to optimize life when you use them in impact drivers by absorbing the peak torque. They can pull double-duty just fine in your drill, though, so feel free to use them as a go-to bits in both tools.

With today’s pricing, this is an affordable bit set that can tempt DIYers while offering the durability and performance Pros demand. Even if you don’t use it with Packout or take advantage of the on-tool storage, it’s still a darn fine price to replenish your consumables.
