MOVA Z60 Ultra Roller Robotic Mopping Vacuum Review

MOVA Z60

The MOVA Z60 Ultra Roller robotic mopping vacuum positions itself as a luxury, high-end robot vacuum and mop hybrid. Its most unique features include an automatic roller cover and a relatively slim 96 mm profile that lets it slip under lower furniture. How can it be this short? Its FlexScope retractable LIDAR sensor actually retracts into the body, letting it vacuum underneath shorter couches, chairs, and tables. In 2023, we reviewed the Dreame L20 Ultra robotic vacuum. MOVA is an independent smart-home brand that utilizes Dreame’s advanced technology. As such, we were excited to look at its new flagship robotic vacuum.

Pros

  • Trustworthy automatic cleaning mode
  • AutoShield protects carpets during mopping
  • App-control and scheduling
  • Corner-reach mopping AND brushing
  • Climbs over 3-in ledges
  • Self-cleaning and self-drying
  • Quiet (<60 dBA)
  • Automatic detergent & pet odor dispenser

Cons

  • Premium price
  • Lots of complexity with many moving parts

MOVA Z60 Robotic Mopping Vacuuming

The core cleaning system of the MOVA Z60 is the DuoSolution System, which features two onboard cleaning solutions. One is for general cleaning, and one is used for pet odor neutralizing. It dispenses the solutions using a combination of real-time spraying and rinsing via 12 nozzles to prevent cross-contamination. A Fluffing Roller also helps lift embedded dirt, letting MOVA claim around 30% more efficiency versus standard rollers.

On the vacuum side, the TurboForce 9 motor delivers up to 28,000 Pa of suction—the most we’ve ever tested. Through the use of dual rotary mops, the Z60 applies up to 4,100 Pa of downward pressure for more aggressive scrubbing.

One truly standout feature is AutoShield. When the Z60 detects carpet, the mop retracts and a shield deploys to cover it while it continues to vacuum. This lets it safely treat carpets as vacuum-only zones without stopping to “drop” the mop (or, as in the case of competitive products, the rotating brushes).

To handle complex terrain, the Z60’s “StepMaster 2.0” lets it cross up to 3.15 inches of combined threshold height. The LiftPro chassis literally rotates an arm that temporarily lifts it over low obstacles or area rugs.

Navigation, Mapping & App Control

Navigation is managed by a combination of cameras, sensors, and LIDAR. Watching the FlexScope sensor retract into the unit, however, is a real treat as it ducks underneath lower obstacles with ease.

The Z60’s advanced sensors support precise mapping and room zoning. DToF (Direct Time-of-Flight) Navigation provides millimeter-level positioning, allowing the robot to map efficiently and target messes accurately.

App control via the MOVAhome app includes CleanGenius auto recommendations that detect carpets, adjust suction, and target edges. In my testing, this automatically detected several key carpeted areas in the home (including an area rug) and made configuring the system a breeze.

Of course, you can also schedule cleaning and define custom zones. You can also start, stop, or adjust settings hands-free using voice control by saying, “Hey, MOVA.” The system also integrates with most standard smart home platforms like Alexa and Google Home.

Even without ambient light, the integrated LIDAR and sensors allow the Z60 to vacuum without problems.

  • Dimensions (base L/W/H): 18.2 x 15.4 x 21.5 in. (463 × 390 × 545 mm)
  • Suction: Up to 28,000 Pa
  • Dust box/bag: 210 mL / 3.2 L
  • Water tank (clean/dirty): 4 L / 3.5 L
  • Max threshold height: 3.15 in. (80 mm)
  • Battery: 6400 mAh (Li-ion)

All-in-One Multifunction Base Station

The capable all-in-one base station takes care of auto-emptying the onboard dustbin so you can run the vacuum for around 3 months (100 days) before changing the dust bag. It also features UV sterilization on the washboard and hot washing (176°F/80°C) to kill up to 99.9% of bacteria, and it automatically dries the mop using hot air to reduce mildew and odors.

Unlike other robotic vacuums we tested recently, MOVA includes an auto-dispensing detergent and pet odor system, which means you don’t have to treat the water each time you refill the clean water tank.

Mapping the Room

I let the Z60 map out my 3000+ square foot home, and it created a detailed layout, automatically labeling rooms (albeit incorrectly, but it was a valiant effort) and assigning floor types. I adjusted the map to name rooms and even create “off limits” so the robot didn’t attempt to vacuum or mop our walk-in shower. Using the MOVAhome app on my iPhone (it’s also available for Android OS), I then set up some custom schedules for vacuuming twice a week and doing a deep clean with mopping on Sundays while we’re at church (electronics don’t get a Sabbath day, apparently).

When the Z60 vacuums and/or mops areas, the map indicates this with a path line. You can see below where the MOVA Z60 auto-detected a throw rug by the lanai and how it segmented our home into rooms.

Pricing and Availability

The MOVA Z60 retails for $1,499, but you may be able to find it for less. The Luxury Bundle version also includes an additional main brush, three more roller mops, two side brushes, and three dust bags in addition to other goodies.

Final Thoughts on the MOVA Z60 Robotic Vacuum

The MOVA Z60 is a premium product designed for homes with lots of tile or LVP. Priced well over $1000, it’s definitely one of the higher-end robotic mopping vacuums you can buy. Fortunately, it also offers some of the most advanced features, and so it does more than most. If you want a truly hands-free robotic vacuuming solution, the MOVA Z60 should be at the top of your list.
