Shop-Vac turns to its 11.8-amp, 6.0 peak horsepower motor for this model. Its 100 CFM and 66 inches of water lift are on the upper end of the scale, though there are models that push the suction power higher. It’s enough for nearly any task around your home, vehicle, and shop.
Where you might want to step up in power is if you want the highest collection rate for your power tools or if you need to clean messes that include heavier debris. On the other side of the spectrum, there may be times when you want something more compact or lighter weight if you need to carry your vacuum upstairs or over terrain that’s not conducive to rolling.

Shop-Vac’s 12-gallon stainless steel canister appeals to us on a couple of levels. First, 12 gallons gives you a lot of capacity without as much bulk as the 16-gallon models. It still takes up more space than the smaller models, but it makes for better accessory and hose storage. We also like the look of stainless steel for the canister.

The best place to get the Shop-Vac 5761311 is Lowe’s where it runs $119.00. At the time we’re writing, it’s on sale for $10 less, sweetening the deal a bit. One thing to keep in mind is that Shop-Vac has a limited lifetime warranty unlike some of its competition.
