Woman Plows Car Into Home Depot

According to an article at The Smoking Gun, a woman plowed a car into a Home Depot in broad daylight to steal merchandise. Around 9 am on August 14th, suspect Gwendolyn Braswell (ID’d by police) allegedly drove a 2000 Pontiac into a Home Depot store in Trussville, Alabama. She scraped up the car while backing it through the front sliding doors and then rammed a display. The debacle apparently sent customers inside running for cover.

She had apparently already been in the store and had set up a leaf blower and dehumidifier for “easy” removal. Home Depot surveillance cameras inside the store captured the entire event.

The suspect is still at large and facing charges for burglary, criminal mischief, and theft.

Fortunately, customers in the store took down the license and recorded videos on their phones. This led police to identify Braswell as the perpetrator. This is not her first brush with law enforcement according to the article. In an odd twist, the vehicle had apparently been “borrowed” without permission.

I wonder if she had read our best backpack leaf blower article and simply couldn’t wait to get her hands on one of the top models?
