Ryobi continues to expand its USB Lithium 4V lighting roster, with a variety of solutions already available. For 2026, the brand moves into the headlamp category with the Ryobi USB Lithium Magnetic LED Headlamp, which aims to offer more versatility than a traditional headlamp. I took a closer look at its design and features to see where it fits in the crowded world of hands-free lighting.

Ryobi USB Lithium Magnetic Headlamp Overview

Ryobi’s USB Lithium platform has no shortage of lighting solutions, and the latest one is the FVL61K headlamp. This light reaches up to 575 lumens on the highest brightness setting. On low, it can run for up to 24 hours using the included 2.0Ah USB Lithium battery.
The light itself magnetically attaches to the headband. The headband mount is curved to contour with the shape of the light to enable you to adjust the angle of your beam without removing the light from the mount. Plus, the one-button control lets you switch between light modes to adjust your brightness on the fly without looking.
Since the light is magnatized, you can also attach it to metal surfaces in your environment for hands-free lighting anywhere you need it.
Controls and Modes
This headlamp features a single power button that also toggles between each mode. There are a total of 7 light modes—high, medium, low, spotlight, solid red, blinking red, and blinking white.
Reaching high, medium, low, and spot is as straightforward as it can get. The light automatically starts at the brightest setting once activated, and then a single press of the power button toggles between medium, low, spot, and off.

To activate the solid red light, simply hold the power button for two seconds from any light setting, including from off. From there, you can hold it again for two seconds to reach the blinking red light mode, and a further two seconds for blinking white.
Ryobi USB Lithium Magnetic Headlamp Price
This tool retails for $49.97, and includes a 2.0Ah USB Lithium battery and USB charging cord. You also get four hardhat clips to attach the light to any hardhat. Ryobi backs your purchase with a 2-year warranty.
Should You Buy It?
For under $50, this is a convenient little light, and I can see it being useful in tons of situations. It’s bright for its size, reaching 575 lumens on the highest setting, plus the red light and flashing modes make it ideal for outdoor situations like camping and hiking.
For general around-the-house use, I can picture the FVL61 coming in handy for evening outdoor tasks like lawn care, taking out the trash, or dog walking. Ryobi included hard hat clips, making it jobsite-ready for even more versatility.
With this combination of price point, comfort, and usability, I think this Ryobi headlamp would be a good addition to your battery-powered lighting arsenal for both new and existing USB Lithium users.
