Ryobi Expands Power Cleaner Line for the 18V and 40V Lineups
Ryobi has been a major player in the cleaning game for several years. The brand offers a variety of pressure washers, vacuums, and other solutions to keep your home in tip-top shape, both indoors and outside. This summer, there are two new Ryobi power cleaners joining the lineup for outdoor cleaning—an 18V model and a 40V model.
I’ll go over what we know about both power cleaners before they release, including who they’re a good fit for and when you’ll start to see them on shelves.

Ryobi 18V One+ 700 PSI Power Cleaner

Performance
Ryobi is no stranger to power cleaners, with three models already existing on both the 18V and 40V lines. However, the roster expands to 5 offerings with the addition of the two new ones, including the 18V One+ PCLPC07. This power cleaner delivers a higher pressure rating than any of the previous iterations, at 700 PSI, with a flow rate of up to 0.8 GPM. As we’ve seen in past models, a water-resistant battery enclosure protects the battery from sprays while you work.
What does this performance level offer? Well, it won’t be a substitute for a pressure washer for severe, stuck-on grime. But it is ideal for tackling quick outdoor cleaning tasks, like washing cars and bikes, maintaining patio furniture, and cleaning grills.
For runtimes, Ryobi estimates up to 11 minutes with the kitted 4.0Ah battery, 16 minutes with a 6.0Ah battery, and 21 minutes using an 8.0Ah battery. This may seem fairly limited, especially when you compare the runtimes to battery-powered pressure washers. However, this power cleaner is best-suited for quick individual cleaning jobs rather than cleaning entire outdoor areas.
Design
Just like the previous three models, there are three water source methods you can choose from with the PCLPC07. You can connect it to any standard garden hose, use the 20-foot siphon hose to siphon fresh water, or hook up the 2L bottle adapter for portable cleaning.
It comes with three nozzles (15°, 40°, and Turbo) and a metal extension wand to tailor your cleaning method to the task. Plus, the quick-connect coupler is compatible with most pressure washer accessories for further customization.

Ryobi 40V HP Brushless 1000 PSI Power Cleaner

Performance
The new Ryobi 40V RY40HPPC01 power cleaner is the strongest model in the roster so far. It features two power modes, supplying up to 1000 PSI / 1.0 GPM on Max and 700 PSI / 0.8 GPM on Eco. Notably, unlike the new 18V model mentioned above, this 40V power cleaner is equipped with a brushless motor, promoting higher performance and longer runtimes.
Speaking of runtimes, here are the estimates that Ryobi claims for the RY40HPPC01:
- Runtime on Eco:
- 4.0Ah battery: 22 minutes
- 6.0Ah battery: 32 minutes
- 8.0Ah battery: 41 minutes
- Runtime on Max:
- 4.0Ah battery: 14 minutes
- 6.0Ah battery: 22 minutes
- 8.0Ah battery: 30 minutes
The RY40HPPC01 is kitted with a 2.0Ah battery, for which Ryobi doesn’t provide a runtime estimate. However, the math works out to around 11 minutes in Eco or 7 minutes on Max. If you buy the kitted version, I recommend having a spare battery on standby for longer cleaning sessions.
Design
As we see with Ryobi’s other power cleaners, the 40V model has three water source options to choose from. You can hook it up to your garden hose for an unlimited water supply, attach the 20-foot siphon hose to a bucket or other water source, or use the included 2L bottle adapter for cleaning on the go.
Finally, the RY40HPPC01 comes with three nozzles for different cleaning applications: a 15°, 40°, and a Turbo nozzle. You also get a metal extension wand to adjust your reach, and a shoulder strap to aid with maneuverability and offset some of the weight.

Should You Buy One?
Power cleaners are the middle ground between pressure washers and your standard garden hose when it comes to spraying volume. In the case of Ryobi’s newest power cleaners, both models deliver stronger pressure ratings than any of the brand’s previous iterations, with the toughest models until now topping out at 600 PSI.
If your outdoor cleaning routine involves spraying surfaces down with your hose and you’re ready for the next step up, Ryobi offers a good choice for both 18V One+ and 40V users with this roster expansion. They work great for cleaning patio furniture, screens, helping with car washing, and other tasks that a standard pressure washer is too intense for.
However, for those who need more intense cleaning power, Ryobi also carries several pressure washers that deliver higher performance for stuck-on grime. This includes three battery-powered models on the 40V platform. Keep in mind, most of those models will cost more than these new power cleaners, but that trade-off may be worth it for homeowners with larger messes to handle.
