Honda Enters Battery-Powered Commercial Lawn Equipment Market with New 58V Platform

A few years back, Honda hit us with the news that it would be exiting the gas lawn mower market, citing environmental regulations and shifting consumer preferences. At that time, the brand was lacking a dedicated battery-powered platform; however, we have seen them shift to producing more and more cordless mowers over the last couple of years.

Now, Honda has finally announced an all-new 58V handheld lawn care product lineup aimed at commercial landscapers. Along with the new tools, there are also 2.5Ah, 4.0Ah, and 5.0Ah batteries to supplement the 8.0Ah and 12.0Ah ones that launched with the mowers. I’m going over what we know about the new roster of battery-powered Honda OPE, including which tools are dropping and what they have to offer the Pro landscaping industry.

Honda 58V Commercial Lawn Tools: Overview

Battery-powered equipment is becoming more popular than ever thanks to the rise in genuine gas-competitive platforms and constant improvements in battery technology. Since pulling out of the gas mower market in 2023, Honda has produced several battery-powered lawn mowers targeted at both residential and commercial users.

These mowers (released earlier in 2026) were the first entries to Honda’s new 58V battery system. Now, there are four new lawn care tools joining the 58V platform, which include the HBBX7550 backpack blower, HHHX2650 hedge trimmer, HHCX1650 chainsaw, and HHTX1750 string trimmer.

These tools won’t be available until spring 2027, so we’ll have to wait a while to share our hands-on thoughts. However, I’ll go over the specs, design notes, and pricing for each of the new Honda 58V lawn tools so your crew knows what to expect before they hit the shelves.

Honda 58V HBBX7550 Backpack Blower

The Honda HBBX7550 58V backpack blower is engineered for professional cleanup and clearing applications. It achieves up to 750 CFM of air volume and air speeds of up to 200 MPH, with up to 33 N of blowing force. This is right around what we expect for high-performing battery-powered backpack blowers, offering legit gas-replacement performance.

With the recommended 2x 12.0Ah battery configuration, Honda tells us this blower delivers up to 35 minutes of trigger time on high, up to 70 minutes in medium, and up to 10 hours of runtime on the lowest setting. You can toggle between clearing modes and speeds using the LCD display panel, which also shows your battery levels and operation alerts.

Like we expect, you also get a cruise control function, a padded harness with shoulder straps, and a belt and back pad to help offset the tool’s weight. A telescoping nozzle allows you to adjust the tube length to your height/application for additional control.

Honda 58V HHCX1650 Chainsaw

The Honda HHCX1650 58V chainsaw features a 16-inch bar and chain, which gives it a 14-inch cutting capacity to knock down trees and branches up to that size. What’s truly notable on paper is its gas equivalence. Honda rates it to perform as well as a 50cc gas unit, which is pretty attention-worthy. That’s right around the same power as some of the best 20-inch battery-powered chainsaws right now, which is an impressive performance metric for a 16-inch model.

Honda claims chain speeds of up to 26 m/s. The kitted 5.0Ah battery will give you up to 33 minutes of maximum-speed runtime. For actual applications, this equates to around 20 cuts on a 10-inch log or 178 cuts on a 4 x 4 pile.

This Honda chainsaw is also equipped with many of the safety features we expect to see on commercial models. You get metal bucking spikes for stabilization, a kickback brake for kickback safety, and a lock-off button to prevent accidental chain activation. An LCD display helps you track your oil levels, battery charge, and other operational info.

Key Stats

  • Model: Honda HHCX1650
  • Bar Length: 16 in
  • Chain Speed: 26 m/s
  • Cut Capacity: 14 in
  • Weight: 9.5 lb (bare); 14.1 lb (w/ 5.0Ah battery)
  • Gas Equivalence: 50cc

Price: $419 bare; $829 kit with a 5.0Ah battery and standard charger

Honda 58V HHTX1750 String Trimmer

The Honda 58V HHTX1750 string trimmer has a 17-inch cutting capacity. Its brushless motor delivers consistent power for professional trimming in dense grass and vegetation, with speeds of up to 5700 RPM. Its 1200W rated output puts it in the same class as a 26cc gas string trimmer.

Honda equipped this trimmer with two power modes (Normal and Eco), letting you prioritize high performance or runtime based on your trimming application. It’s kitted with a 4.0Ah battery, and Honda estimates runtimes of up to 45 minutes in Eco mode, or 25 minutes in Normal mode.

Key Stats

  • Model: Honda HHTX1750
  • Cutting Swath: 17 in
  • Max Speed: 5700 RPM
  • Gas Equivalence: 26cc

Honda 58V HHHX2650 Hedge Trimmer

The last product we’re discussing from Honda’s 58V OPE launch is the HHHX2650 hedge trimmer. It has a 26-inch cutting length and a cut capacity of up to 1 1/3-inch, letting you trim shrubs and branches up to that diameter. Like the string trimmer mentioned above, this tool lets you switch between Normal and Eco operating modes to prioritize runtime and performance based on the application.

This tool generates up to 3000 SPM in Eco and 4000 SPM in Normal. For runtimes, Honda estimates up to 65 minutes of runtime in Normal mode, or up to 100 minutes in Eco mode using the kitted 2.5Ah battery.

On the design side, it’s also equipped with an aluminum blade support for commercial-grade durability, and an IPX4 weather rating to withstand water splashes. Like many hedge trimmers, it features a rotating handle, with five positions between 0° and 90° for a comfortable grip when trimming at a variety of angles. Honda also gave it a dual-engagement trigger (front and rear) to prevent accidental blade activation for additional safety.

Key Stats

  • Model: Honda HHHX2650
  • Blade Length: 26 in
  • Max Speed: 4000 SPM
  • Cut Capacity: 1 1/3-inch
  • Gas Equivalence: 21cc
  • Handle Type: 5-position rotating
