Job Site Lighting Reviews & Buying Guides

When you talk about jobsite lighting, many products come to mind. Our job site lighting reviews including everything from LED flashlights to work lights and other lighting systems. We cover everything for the workshop or job site but also deal in portable lighting, including battery powered and cordless lights. These new cordless lighting products provide hours of runtime. They shine brighter and have more color accuracy than ever before. Newer LED-based lighting products also have the kind of run-time you only imagined a battery-based tool could have. Job Site Lighting Reviews for Contractors and Shop Owners We feel that halogen job site lighting has reached the end of its life. Newer LED-based lighting solutions like the Festool SysLite DUO work light and the Maxxeon WorkStar 5000 work light have made that clear. Even smaller battery-powered products have changed jobsite lighting. A great example includes the RYOBI Hybrid LED work light. Our job site lighting reviews focus on several key elements. What is the light output? How well does the light cover the work area? If battery-powered, does the LED light provide enough run-time? What is the quality of light (hotspots, color temperature, etc)?

Mac Tools Cordless 3.6V LED Worklight TL98268 Preview

Mac Tools Cordless 3.6V LED Worklight TL98268 Preview

We cover a lot from Stanley Black & Decker, but one of its other family companies, Mac Tools, just came out with something pretty cool this week. Mac Tools introduced a Cordless Rubberized LED Worklight (model TL98268). The TL98268 is designed to be both versatile and durable – two features that are pretty important in a workshop or garage environment. It features a polycarbonate casing with TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) textured coating finish. This outer coating is a sort of rubberized coating that gives the flashlight good grip as well as protection from falls. Of course, while that’s impressive, Mac Tools also made the new LED Work Light water resistant – the switch is 100% sealed from water, dirt and dust. Mac Tools, of course, backs all this up with an IP54 rating.

Coast EAL20 Emergency Area LED Light Review

Coast EAL20 Emergency Area LED Light Review

Coast’s Emergency Area Light (EAL20) is a simple, yet effective product. This is the kind of light you want to spend the money on simply because it works, it won’t break, and it’ll last forever. Forget the outdoor or camping lights of the past, Coast has brought the lantern into the 21st century. It’s got LEDs, standard ‘D’ cell batteries, durability, and stamina to last for around 100 hours. We’ll break all this down for you, but I have to warn you – it’s a light. This isn’t a terribly complex review, nor does it need to be. When a product works as advertised, and it’s impressive, the review sort of writes itself.

Milwaukee M18 Cordless Work Light 49-24-0171 Review

Milwaukee M18 Work Light 49-24-0171 Review

We got to take a look at the Milwaukee M18 Cordless Work Light (49-24-0171). Initially we liked the basic design of the work light, but had to complain, respectfully, that any stand-alone light in this day and age should include a new super-bright LED bulb. Milwaukee sells both an LED-based Work Light 2735-20 ($55) and a 50,000-hour stand-alone LED upgrade bulb 49-81-0090 ($30).
