Worx WX533L 40V Circular Saw

In partnership with Worx

Worx high-performance brushless power tools are designed to help serious DIYers reach higher levels of performance and enjoy the benefits of more refined designs. One of the newest members is the WORXSAW 40V High-Performance Brushless 7 1/4-inch Circular Saw, and I had the opportunity to take a deep dive with Worx Product Manager, Angel Rebollar, to learn more about it. I’ll show you what this saw has to offer and what sets it apart from the competition.

Elevated Performance

There are two significant upgrades in the WX533L compared to Worx’s previous cordless circular saws.

The first is that this is a 2 x 20V saw, so it combines the power of two batteries to reach the 40V max performance level. Second, there’s the Brushless Motor 2.0 at the saw’s heart. Its advanced magnetic design delivers more torque, higher power output, and improved cutting performance.

The combination of higher voltage and an advanced brushless motor has dramatic implications. The saw produces 1800 watts of power, meeting and even exceeding the performance of 15-amp corded circular saws, including those from professional brands.

With that kind of power at its disposal, the saw confidently spins a 7 1/4-inch blade at 6000 RPM. Under load, the blade is stable with low vibration and powers through tough cuts where weaker saws stall. You’ll enjoy cleaner edges, straighter cuts, and smoother passes, even when you’re ripping hardwoods or cutting aggressively.

The PowerShare Advantage

Worx WX533L 40V Circular Saw

One of the key benefits of Worx’s 20V Max PowerShare system is that you can run 20V, 40V, or 80V tools all with the same batteries. There’s no need to buy into multiple platforms. You simply use the number of batteries the tool needs to reach its voltage level, and every Worx 20V Max PowerShare battery is compatible with every Worx PowerShare tool.

As a 2 x 20V tool, the WORXSAW 40V High-Performance Brushless 7 1/4-inch Circular Saw uses two of those 20V Max PowerShare batteries. If you buy the kit, it comes with two 4.0Ah batteries. You can use those same packs on other PowerShare power tools, lawn care equipment, or lifestyle products.

But say you already own the Worx PowerShare impact driver and hammer drill combo. Can you use the two 2.0Ah batteries from that set?

Absolutely. And here’s the cool thing: The circular saw won’t drop down in performance just because you’re using compact batteries. When you’re working on smaller projects, feel free to reduce the saw’s weight by using smaller packs.

Worx also built regenerative braking into this circular saw. As the saw actively slows the blade, it sends some of that energy back to the battery to extend your runtime by up to 10%. When you use two 4.0Ah batteries, that’s more than 30 extra cross cuts in 4 x 6 birch lumber.

Not only do you get wide-ranging tool compatibility, but you’ll also enjoy fade-free power with any size batteries and longer runtime, making you more productive.

Ease of Use

Worx WX533L 40V Circular Saw

Worx didn’t only boost cutting performance on the new circular saw; they also packed it with Pro-inspired features.

One of the most notable is a lightning-fast blade brake. It takes just 1/2 a second to bring the blade from 6000 RPM to 0 RPM. You won’t even have enough time to set the saw down before the blade stops, making it safer for both you and your materials.

I was thrilled to see that Worx put an aluminum blade guard and cover on this model. While it’s slightly heavier than using plastic for the guard, it makes for a more durable build and adds confidence that the saw is built to hold up over the long haul.

I also like the high-contrast depth and bevel markings. Some of the saws I’ve used simply stamp the measurements into the metal, making them hard to read. By avoiding that trap, Worx makes it easier and faster to set your cutting depth or bevel angle.

Don’t miss the importance of the LED light. While it’s rare to cut in full low-light conditions, bright lights and shadows can make it hard to track your cutline. The LED light on this saw ensures you’ll be able to see clearly and make accurate cuts in any indoor or outdoor environment.

It all comes together in a complete package that’s powerful, easy to use, and offers ultimate control.

Additional Features

  • Dust Port Adapter: Keep your workspace cleaner by attaching a vacuum
  • Rafter Hook: Conveniently hang your saw instead of looking for a place to set it down
  • Onboard Hex Key: Never worry about whether you have what you need to change blades

High-Performance Value

Worx WX533L 40V Circular Saw

The WORXSAW 40V High-Performance Brushless 7 1/4-inch Circular Saw makes a compelling case for serious DIYers, but how much does it cost for that level of performance and quality?

Less than you might think.

The kit is $199 and includes the saw, two 4.0Ah batteries, a dual-port battery charger, a 24T carbide-tipped blade, and a parallel cutting guide. It’s the most powerful cordless circular saw kit you can get for less than $200.

And if you need one more reason to pull the trigger, Worx backs this saw with a 5-year warranty.
