Coast’s Emergency Area Light (EAL20) is a simple, yet effective product. This is the kind of light you want to spend the money on simply because it works, it won’t break, and it’ll last forever. Forget the outdoor or camping lights of the past, Coast has brought the lantern into the 21st century. It’s got LEDs, standard ‘D’ cell batteries, durability, and stamina to last for around 100 hours. We’ll break all this down for you, but I have to warn you – it’s a light. This isn’t a terribly complex review, nor does it need to be. When a product works as advertised, and it’s impressive, the review sort of writes itself.
The Gyros 58-23672 Magnalite Pro Cordless Work Light makes working in the dark an almost pleasant experience thanks to its portability, flexibility and the large amount of light it puts out. This work light can easily replace most automotive drop lights, flashlights and even camping lanterns – and yet it offers cool-to-the-touch bright light to illuminate any task. With a slender size and lithium-ion battery power, there are many things to like about this work light.
DeWalt announced the launch of a 12V MAX Lithium Ion LED Work Light (DCL510) as part of its new 12 Volt MAX cordless platform. With a 130-Lumen LED light and a head that rotates 360-degrees and pivots, the DCL510 provides bright illumination to maximize visibility and accuracy on the jobsite. The product will come with a three-year limited warranty, one year free service contract and 90-day money back guarantee.
We got to take a look at the Milwaukee M18 Cordless Work Light (49-24-0171). Initially we liked the basic design of the work light, but had to complain, respectfully, that any stand-alone light in this day and age should include a new super-bright LED bulb. Milwaukee sells both an LED-based Work Light 2735-20 ($55) and a 50,000-hour stand-alone LED upgrade bulb 49-81-0090 ($30).
