In partnership with Hilti

Hilti is continuing to broaden its portfolio of professional-grade power tools to encompass more jobsite applications than ever. As it expands, more of those solutions are cordless thanks to the performance of the Nuron battery system. One of the newest is the Hilti SCT 60-22 cordless table saw. I had the opportunity to chat with members of Hilti’s product team to learn how they’ve engineered it to meet the demands of today’s jobsites.

Cordless Performance

Hilti didn’t mess around with their first cordless table saw and went straight after a full-size 10-inch design. That may seem ambitious, considering most other brands only offer a compact 8 1/4-inch model for their battery-powered offerings. However, Hilti is no stranger to high-demand cordless products, with tools such as the DSH 900-22 ATC 14-inch cut-off saw and TE 3000-22 TE-H jackhammer running on the Nuron battery system. Hilti has the brushless motor and battery technology to deliver the power and runtime this saw needs.

Whether you’re ripping plywood, cutting roof battens, or making precision hardwood cuts for on-site builds, you’ll have the performance you need to do the job right. With its 10-inch blade spinning at 5900 RPM and a max cutting depth of 3.54 inches, you can rip 4x material in one pass. Thanks to its 26-inch fence capacity, you can rip down sheet materials with ease.

Simplified Workflow

Hilti’s product engineers know that an efficient workflow is key to jobsite productivity. So, they ensured you have everything you need within easy reach once you get the saw to your workspace.

All of your safety gear stores on board. The blade guard, riving knife, and anti-kickback pawls connect underneath the saw where they’re protected during transport, and the push stick slides in from the front where it’s easy to grab as you push through your cut.

Additionally, Hilti includes a stop block and miter gauge, so you have them when you need them.

It’s not just the accessories that simplify your workflow, though. By turning to a rack-and-pinion fence system, adjustments are quick, easy, and accurate. Simply flip the fence into the position you need, turn the adjustment knob to dial in the measurement, and you’re ready to cut. There’s no fiddling around with multiple levers to lock the fence down or wondering whether it’s square.

Of course, there’s nothing better than the freedom of a cordless power source. You don’t have to worry about running an extension cord to an outlet or dragging along a generator for power. Just slide the battery into place and get to work.

Improved Portability

Hilti Table Saw Stand

While Pros need high performance from their table saws, getting them on and off the jobsite is a frequent pain point, so Hilti’s engineers paid close attention to the portability of this saw.

It starts with the weight. At less than 52 pounds bare, it’s significantly lighter than most of its competition, corded or cordless. It’s a difference you’ll notice when you load it up or take it out, especially as the day wears on and fatigue sets in.

Hilti also offers the SCT 60-T table saw stand that’s purpose-built to improve the saw’s portability and setup speed. With the press of a lever, the stand unfolds and raises the saw up to a working position in mere seconds.

When you’re ready to call it a day, the stand folds back up just as quickly. Plus, large wheels make rolling the entire assembly across bare ground or stairs easier, and grip positions on both ends allow for an easy two-man hoist into your truck bed.

Ready to Upgrade?

There aren’t many options if you want the cutting depth and performance of a 10-inch table saw combined with the convenience of a cordless battery system. Hilti didn’t use that as an excuse to just give you a basic option, though. The SCT 60-22 table saw delivers the cordless performance you need while addressing workflow and portability to make your job easier.
