The new grinder uses a 7-amp 12,000 RPM motor, which runs at low temperatures to help keep the grinder cool during extended use applications. The body is nice and slim and looks easy to grip as well as small enough to maneuver into tight quarters.
Whether or not more people will keep the guard on during casual use remains to be seen, but in the commercial world, guards are a necessary safety feature, and having something that’s easily adjustable seems like a very convenient feature that will save time and energy. The two-position side handle can switch for both right—and left-handed users, and the 5/8″-11 spindle thread accepts a wide range of 4-1/2″ accessories.
