  • Overall Rating 9.4

Whether you're the kind of Pro that likes to toss your tools in your bag or you're more OCD about organization, the Diamondback Baere Tote is for you! Its ability to stand alone is perfect for tradesmen that just want to get in and get out. On the other hand, Diamondback's smaller Sax and Pax offer more versatile customization. Either way, it's a lightweight, durable tote that's appropriate for any tradesman looking for open-top storage.

Diamondback Baere Tote Offers Lightweight Open Top Storage With Versatile Organization Options

You have a ton of options when it comes to open-top tool storage. You can target light weight, durability, tons of pockets, basic storage, and everything in between. We decided to take a closer look at the Diamondback Baere Tote to see who it’s the best fit for.

Pros

  • Lightweight construction
  • Durable 1000D nylon with DiamondSkin base material
  • Customizable with other Diamondback accessories
  • Made in the USA

Cons

  • Base doesn’t keep water out

Diamondback Baere Tote Design and Use

Materials and Construction

Diamondback starts with DiamondSkin V-diamond vinyl material and laminates 1000D nylon liners and pockets to it. It’s sewn together using a combination of single, double, and triple stitching. Looking over the bag, we don’t see any areas we’re concerned about coming apart on us and the combination of materials feels durable.

While the DiamondSkin base material is waterproof, they don’t construct the bag itself to keep water out. If you happen to set it in standing water, it can leak in around the seams. Some brands’ bags and totes include a waterproof base. It’s a nice feature but adds quite a bit of weight. That’s the trade-off you need to consider.

Pockets

Four medium-size pockets (4.5 – 5 inches wide) line the interior and there are another four on the exterior. There’s also a combination pocket that stacks a nylon tape measure clip, two pencil holders, and a stiffer 3-inch pocket. We like the loadout, but some folks may want smaller hand tool pockets for hand drivers.

Versatility

What I like about the design is that it can stand alone or form the base of a larger system. It’s 16 x 10 inches with an 8-inch height. For reference, that’s large enough to fit a circular saw in.

From there, it’s all about your imagination. Toss your gear in there or grab some Pax, Sax, or Sleeves to pack it out the way you want. Just keep in mind those accessories have to sit loose rather than connecting with a locking system.

The icing on the cake is that the tote only weighs 1.7 pounds. That’s lighter than many of the competing totes out there.

Diamondback Baere Tote Price

The retail price for this Made in the USA tote is $85 and it comes with a 5-year warranty. Compared to the other premium tool storage brands, that’s right on par with what we expect. Diamondback offers a 30-day free return policy, including free return shipping.

The Bottom Line

Whether you’re the kind of Pro that likes to toss your tools in your bag or you’re more OCD about organization, the Diamondback Baere Tote is for you! Its ability to stand alone is perfect for tradesmen that just want to get in and get out. On the other hand, Diamondback’s smaller Sax and Pax offer more versatile customization. Either way, it’s a lightweight, durable tote that’s appropriate for any tradesman looking for open-top storage.

I like this tote. However, I think it would work best mainly as a cordless tool carry bag. For me I like a separate bag for service tools and a second for cordless tools. Plumbing service work requires having lots of different hand tools so it’s very easy to fill one bag with them. The the Baere tote would make it optional to carry in job only when you think you need cordless tools.
