Bosch GSD4V-35 Brings Your Screwdriving Game Into the 21st Century
Electric screwdrivers have been around for some time, and they can certainly be a lifesaver on jobs that require a lot of tightening. Bosch recently updated its 4V offerings with a rechargeable screwdriver model: the GSD4V-35. The question is, how will it improve your next job over traditional driving methods?
I’ll walk you through this model to help you decide if it’s worth the plunge.
Bosch 4V Rechargeable Screwdriver: Overview

- Model: Bosch GSD4V-35
- USB-C recharge
- Mechanical clutch
- Eight torque settings
- LED light
- Dual-activation
The Bosch GSD4V-35 screwdriver features an integrated, rechargeable 4V battery. Bosch recommends it for driving screws in a variety of materials, including wood, metal, plastic, and more. A mechanical clutch also provides eight torque settings, letting you tailor your power output to the task at hand.
Similar to what we see in the discontinued Bosch Go cordless screwdriver, the GSD4V-35 is equipped with a dual-activation function. This means that you can activate bit rotation by either holding the power button or by pressing the bit against your workpiece.
While Bosch doesn’t provide any specific runtime numbers, the internal battery recharges using the included USB-C cable.
Storage

This screwdriver comes encased in a locking hard-shell case. What’s unique about it is that the lock lever also functions as storage for the eight included bits, with holding slots for each one to keep everything in place.
The USB-C cord stores in the case as well. It’s located under the screwdriver’s plastic storage compartment. While the included cord is only a few inches in length, you can use any USB-C cord you have on hand if you need more reach.
Additional Features
- Universal Bit Lock: Accepts 1/4-inch hex screwdriver bits for fast changes and easy customization.
- Smart Stop: Stops rotation in the event of high vibration or misalignment.
- Electronic Brake: Quickly stops bit rotation when the power button is released.
Bosch 4V Rechargeable Screwdriver Price
This tool retails for $69 and includes an 8-piece bit set, a bit holder, and a USB-C charging cable. Everything is housed in a locking hard-shell case. Bosch backs your purchase with a 3-year warranty.
Should You Buy It?
There’s a lot to like about the Bosch GSD4V-35 rechargeable screwdriver. I appreciate the upgrades Bosch made to the design, like the enhanced power button and LED ring light that heighten the user experience. As the brand’s current 4V in-line screwdriver model, I think they knocked it out of the park. Will it completely replace your manual screwdriver set?
Probably not. There are still plenty of times you’ll want the feel and control of a manual screwdriver. However, this one can take the heavy lifting off your wrists for repetitive driving applications.
There are less expensive cordless screwdrivers on the market that make more sense for homeowners and DIYers who don’t need Pro-level performance. But, if you’re a professional electrician, engineer, or builder who has been manually turning screws and you’re ready for a battery-powered upgrade, this is a model worth considering.
