What Brands Do Republicans and Democrats Like?

YouGov’s BrandIndex survey asked the following question: “Is your brand a red brand or a blue brand?” and then posted some of the results online. After reviewing their analysis, at least the published ones, it looks like Republicans (GOP) and Democrats aren’t all that different. Overall, it looked like there were a lot of similarities, like Johnson & Johnson, Craftsman tools, and the Discovery Channel. So if you think only Red or Blue voters like to grab that Craftsman 12V Nextec drill, you’re likely stereotyping – incorrectly.

There were some notable differences, like the fact that the groups split over unionized UPS vs. non-union FedEx, and Republicans, of course, liked Fox News Channel, while Democrats are apparently shopaholics and seemed to rank Amazon more highly. So what did we learn from this article? Simple. We’re all living together and we need to try to do a beter job to listen and understand one another. With that said, if you’re searching for common ground, we suggest talking about tools… or maybe Cheerios. Hey, it’s worth a shot.
