Rockwellย hasย announced the newest addition to their cordless line. The Rockwell RK2855K2 20V Max Brushless 1/2″ Impact Wrench is expected to have an extended runtime and lifespan thanks to its brushless motor. It features a 3-speed digital gearbox with torque levels of 1150, 1770, and 2300 inch-pounds.
Rockwell RK2855K2 20V Max Brushless 1/2″ Impact Wrench Features
For most impact wrench users, having multiple speeds andย operating torque settings is beneficial. Certainly, the most torque is required for those metal-to-metal fastening applications. 2300 inch-pounds (192 foot-pounds) doesn’t compare to the high-torque models on the market, but it’s certainly enough to handle the majority of DIY needs. Taken outside the auto shop, impact wrenches serve as socket wrench replacement. You don’t necessarily need all the available torque, and that’s where the multiple gear settings really come in handy.
โHaving a tool like this at your disposal is empowering. It handles mechanicsโ jobs, but it also performs building and assembly tasks with no problem, such as driving 3-inch lag screws when building decks.โ
Jeanne White, Rockwellโs Senior Product Manager
The Rockwell RK2855K2 20V Max Brushless 1/2″ Impact Wrench also features computer-controlled power distribution. This electronic communication improves efficiency and durability by reducing heat, friction, and wear. An on-board battery fuel gauge helps track charge status. For applications in low light areas, the impact wrench has LED work light.
We’ve taken a look at Rockwell’sย 16V Max drill driver and 16V impact driverย previously. It’s nice to see that they’ve moved from the 16V Max (AKA the old 14.4V platform) up to 20V Max. Check out our article on 20V Max vs 18V platforms to see the significance. For fans of the brand, the Rockwell 20V Max Brushless 1/2″ Impact Wrench will be a nice addition to the line.
