Southwire Adds Box Jaw Romex Stripper to Made in America Line

Rather than having to try to work a knife or a standard set of strippers awkwardly into an electrical panel box, Southwire’s patent-pending Box Jaw Wire Stripper lets you comfortably and safely strip Romex flush against the back of the panel box. It gives you a bit more features and flexibility than a cable ripper, but with the same advantages.

How Does Southwire’s Design Work?

The business end of the Southwire Box Jaw Romex Stripper sits at a 90° angle to the handle. This lets you get the cutting head flush to the back of the box and safely strip off the Romex jacket without having to work a standard stripper into the box at an awkward angle. It works with 12/2 and 14/2 Romex NM-B Cable.

Additionally, the Southwire Box Jaw Romex Stripper can strip 12-14 SOL AWG single conductor wire with the notches in the backside jaws of this tool. A larger curved blade sits behind these wire strippers for cutting through your Romex or single conductor wire. It also includes a wire looper and shear holes for 6-32 and 8-32 screws. As all-around tools go, this one hits a lot of key needs for electrical rough-in.
