The Best Part? There’s No Membership Required.

Fast delivery is all the rage recently, and for good reason. What started as a selling point for online marketplaces like Amazon has shifted to the new industry standard, with more retailers starting to offer it in 2026. On the tool and DIY side of the market, The Home Depot has started offering 2-hour express delivery on thousands of items, and your local store is likely a participating location.

Since Home Depot’s new quick delivery system is relatively new, we wanted to make sure you were aware of it for your next project! I’ll go over the whole system so you’re up to speed.

Home Depot Express Delivery: What is It?

Home Depot’s new express delivery was first announced in August 2026 and initially promised delivery in three hours or less. In September, the company actually raised the bar, offering express delivery in under two hours. This is for thousands of SKUs, ranging from power tools to plumbing supplies, paint, electrical equipment, and everyday project supplies.

Across the U.S.A., there are over 2,000 Home Depot stores, which will effectively act as neighborhood fulfillment hubs for express delivery orders. There’s also no membership required, with each express delivery order tacking on a small flat fee.

I tested out a variety of orders, and most express-compatible items came with a fee of around $7-$10. You can select the express delivery option during the checkout process.

While other retailers have a similar pay-to-play method for non-members to get fast shipping, perhaps none have the breadth of home improvement supplies and major brands as THD. Stores like Walmart and Amazon do carry tools, but both retailers are brand-limited and don’t carry some of the most popular brands, like Milwaukee, Ryobi, Ridgid, and more.

Other Home Depot Delivery Options

While express delivery is the most recent addition to Home Depot’s delivery convenience offerings, not every item in the store is eligible. However, that doesn’t mean you have to wait 5-8 business days for your order to arrive. There are a few other delivery and shipping offerings to be aware of.

Home Depot offers free same-day delivery on orders over $25 placed by 4 pm, which is a plus for time-sensitive projects where you can’t step away to do another store run. The company also provides same-day delivery on thousands of items—up to 65% of in-stock products. For bulky items and major appliances, Depot boasts next-day delivery for up to 60% of the U.S. population.

Final Thoughts

We’re living in a fast-moving world, and it’s more apparent every year as retailers aim to meet the demands of their customers. What started as a perk is growing more towards an expectation, and that’s a good thing for us, the consumers. Whether you’re a one-man crew on the jobsite, managing a household while you finish your home repair project, or anything in between, 2-hour delivery could be a huge advantage over another store run.

Depot is home to most everything you need for home repair projects, jobsite requirements, appliances, decor, and more. Whether you choose to take advantage of The Home Depot’s express delivery is up to you—but you never know when you may need it.
