The Channellock Forged Wire Stripper, made in the USA from high-carbon forged steel, strips and cuts 10-20AWG solid and stranded wire. It features Channellock’s Xtreme Leverage Technology, letting you apply more leverage without the proportional amount of force.

We’re fans of any wire stripper that gives you easier and faster cutting and shearing. Combined with the Channellock Blue Comfort grips, you get a pair of wire strippers that reduce hand fatigue over traditional wire strippers. You can really see it in the stout design—these forged wire strippers do more with less effort.

Channellock has also machined the screw shears on the Forged Wire Stripper to prevent damage to the screw threads. We definitely look forward to testing that in more depth. So far they make quick work of 6-32 and 8-32 machine screws.

One other feature we like is the curved cutting shear. It channels Romex and wire to keep it in place during handling and cutting.

Additionally, the Channellock 968s feature a reaming head that lets you deburr, clean, and also flare conduit up to 1 inch. This works due to precision-machined grooves on the reaming head.

Lastly, the Channellock Forged Wire Stripper has a spring-loaded locking handle for safe storage.
