Echo X-Series Chainsaws Target High Performance and Lighter Weight

Battery-powered chainsaws have come a long way since their humble beginnings. That’s good news for both homeowners and Pros. Now, we’re seeing a generation of legitimate professional-grade top-handle options, and Echo’s 56V cordless top-handle chainsaws are some of the best. We’re looking at the chainsaws Echo has to offer on its battery-powered X-Series lineup to see which one best suits your needs.

Echo 56V Cordless X-Series Top-Handle Chainsaw Performance

  • Model: Echo DCS-2500T / DCS-2500TN
  • Brushless motor
  • Chain gauge and pitch:
    • 0.050-inch x 3/8-inch low profile (DCS-2500T)
    • 0.034-inch x 3/8-inch low profile (DCS-2500TN)
  • MaxOut performance technology

Since these are pro-targeted chainsaws, it comes as no surprise that the DCS-2500T / DCS-2500TN utilize brushless motors. However, Echo takes it a step further with what it calls MaxOut performance. This technology ensures maximum power output for the entire battery life, without bogging down performance as you get low on juice.

80TXL Cutting System

There are two chainsaw models to talk about in Echo’s X Series lineup: the DCS-2500T and the DCS-2500TN. They share a lot of the same performance and design features, however, the latter includes what Echo calls the 80TXL cutting system. The brand tells us this technology provides more efficient cutting and reduces vibration levels thanks in part to a nano-style chain as opposed to the standard chain found on the DCS-2500T.

As a result of this increased efficiency, Echo estimates up to 70 cuts per charge on the DCS-2500TN, which is an increase of 10 cuts compared to the base model.

Echo 56V Cordless X-Series Top-Handle Chainsaw Design

  • 7.3 pounds with battery
  • 12-inch bar length
  • Metal bucking spikes
  • Chain brake
  • Automatic oiler
  • Single bar stud
  • Quickdraw harness ring and integrated lanyard hook
  • Internal debris screen protects motor and electronics

The only option Echo offers as far as bar length for these chainsaws is 12 inches, which is just fine for saws in this class. One of the key focuses in their design is weight reduction, and a smaller bar helps them accomplish that goal. To keep with the lightweight theme, both Echo chainsaw kits include a compact 2.5Ah battery, putting their weight at just 7.3 pounds.

Echo also ensures both models have what you need for working at height. An integrated tether hook can be found near the battery compartment, and you also get a quick-draw harness ring in the package.

Other convencience features include an auto-oiler and a translucent oil reservoir to keep an eye on your fluid levels. Echo also included an easy-access internal debris screen to prevent wood chips from entering the motor and electronics.
