Military and Veterans Can Now Shop Tax-Free at The Home Depot!

Military Members, Veterans, and Their Families Qualify for Tax Cuts on Most Home Depot Online Purchases

The Home Depot has recently announced it will offer tax-free shopping for military members, veterans, and their families. So, what products are eligible, and how much can military members expect to save? Let’s dig a little deeper to answer your questions.

Tax-Free Shopping and Military Discount at The Home Depot

May is known throughout the United States as Military Appreciation Month, so it’s great that The Home Depot is giving back to service members. The company has announced an expansion to its partnerships with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service, with which they have partnered since 2023, as well as the Navy Exchange Service Command, to bring tax breaks and shopping deals on Home Depot purchases to United States military members.

Starting May 1, these services will offer nearly all online Home Depot products tax-free to all military exchange customers! This is huge news, as more than 2 million individual products will be eligible for this tax break.

Products range from power tools, outdoor power equipment, grills, garden tools, to major appliances like washers and dryers, refrigerators, and more.

Additionally, several of these products also qualify for a 10% military discount. Military members and veterans can save 10% on full-priced, non-appliance merchandise on the Exchange and NEX websites. The same discount is also available on Home Depot’s online store.

Home Depot Has Declared

Jordan Broggi, executive vice president of Customer Experience, offered some insight into The Home Depot’s thoughts on this program, stating:

“The Home Depot has been a longtime supporter of veteran causes, giving back through career opportunities, professional trades training, community investments, and accessible housing initiatives. Offering the military community greater benefits is one additional way we can support military members and their families after they’ve given us so much.”
