New Milwaukee Tool Pouch Solutions

Milwaukee Tool Pouch

The right tools can make life on the jobsite much easier. And often, the “right tools” probably include convenient solutions for having your tools close by and easily accessible.  As it happens, we just received some new accessories for just that purpose. New Milwaukee tool pouch solutions offer lightweight, durable options for keeping your tools strapped up to your belt for easy access when you need it most.

Available now, the new Milwaukee tool pouch options include a compact utility pouch for lighter-duty jobs, as well as a larger utility pouch to hold a variety of necessary tools. They can act as standalone pouches on your belt or as additions to your tool rig.

You Have Some Options

Milwaukee Utility Pouch

Milwaukee has two options for your consideration. The first one is their Utility Pouch (48-22-8119). It features 5 exterior pockets and two elastic straps for holding pens or utility knives. The exterior pockets don’t close at the bottom so that the shanks of your drivers can slide through, securing the tool in the pouch. It also features a deep center pocket for holding larger hand tools or meters.

This model features a tape strap. The strap threads through the center hole of your tape spools and attaches securely to the hook. It can accommodate a few rolls of electrical or pipe thread tape.

Milwaukee Compact Utility Pouch

The other option that Milwaukee has available is the Compact Utility Pouch (48-22-8118). 5 total pockets include 3 small outside pockets surrounding a medium inside pocket and an upper pocket. There’s also a pair of elastic straps to work with.

The upper pouch allows for holding fasteners and small parts. It has an inner elastic strap that holds things fast to the side of the pouch. It’s great for keeping a track of smaller fasteners when you’re working on electrical boxes or AC units.

The compact utility pouch has a tape chain for holding a couple rolls of electrical or pipe thread tape. It won’t hold as many rolls as the strap on the larger utility pouch will, but it will suffice for Pros that just keep a few rolls handy.

An Eye For Durability

Both of the Milwaukee tool pouch models feature 1680D ballistic material. Known for its resistance to abrasion and tearing, this robust nylon feels tough and durable. Milwaukee likes to use the 1680D nylon, and in various other applications where this material shows up, we’ve had no concerns about the material weathering plenty of wear and tear. These pouches should stand up to having even your sharper tools sliding in and out of the pouch within reason.

Milwaukee uses rivets at the corner seams. Using rivets here means that your pouch should resist coming apart at these points that generally have to endure a lot more stress.

Both pouches also have an adjustable belt attachment, which makes strapping the pouch to your belt easy and comfortable. The strap is thick and durable, and it feels comfortable fixed at your side.

Final Thoughts

Milwaukee Tool Pouch

These two new Milwaukee tool pouch solutions provide a relatively inexpensive inroad into functional tool pouches. The nylon is durable, and ti should stand up to a few years of tools being jammed into or yanked out of the pockets. Milwaukee has built a reputation for constructing durable tools, and these pouches seem to fit right into that paradigm.

I do have my doubts about how effective the larger model will be for holding onto anything around the size of a cordless drill or larger (that idea is completely out of the question for the compact utility pouch). To be fair though, it doesn’t seem like these pouches were necessarily designed with that purpose in mind. These pouches should really shine for the electrician who would like to tote around a meter or two, a few hand tools, a flashlight, some tape, and a few pencils.

While they’re not leather (most of the guys around here love a good leather tool belt/pouches), they do provide durable storage that can stand alone when you don’t need to carry much or can attach to your tool rig if it has some space available.
