Marlborough Men Tool Thieves at Home Depot

My image of the Marlborough man is forever tainted now, after a news report out of the Massachusetts town with the same name. It seems two “Marlborough men tool thieves” were arrested this week after police said they went into a Home Depot and returned a tool kit they had never purchased for store credit.

But they didn’t get caught for that… no, they got away with that particular crime. It was when the numb-skulls attempted to leave, apparently not content with their free money, with the returned tool that they got nabbed. “Moron” doesn’t begin to describe these men. But I digress… From the article:

Michael L. Letendre, 45, of 125 Second Road, was charged with larceny of property of more than $250, assault and battery and conspiracy. Jeffrey P. Marrazzo, 44, of 18 Second Road, was charged with larceny of property worth more than $250 and conspiracy.

Detective Martha Shea said Letendre took a DeWalt combo tool kit worth $499 off the shelf and brought it to the return desk, pretending he had already bought it.

After receiving store credit, Letendre tried to leave the store with the kit, Shea said. When security approached Letendre, he became belligerent and pushed his way out of the store.

A police officer pursued him and arrested Letendre on East Main Street, Shea said. Marrazzo, who had left shortly after the two arrived, returned to the store, unaware of what had happened. Police arrested him for working with Letendre.

Apparently, this wasn’t the first time either of these men have done this. Both Letendre and Marrazzo had been under surveillance for possible thefts in the past at Home Depot and other stores according to the investigator.

Maybe it’s just me, but I can envision a whole new way to discourage smoking with ads of crazed Marlborough men banding together and robbing home improvement stores all over the city for cigarette money…
