Marauder Mini 2 Brings Output Upgrades and Enhanced Design
We’ve reviewed several Olight flashlights over the last few years. We like them for their sleek, durable design and intelligent build. That pattern continues with the Olight Marauder Mini 2 flashlight, which is (ironically) the largest model we’ve tested so far from this brand. I took a deeper dive into what you can expect using this flashlight and who it’s a good fit for.
Olight Mini Marauder 2 Flashlight Performance

Light Output and Modes
The Olight Marauder Mini 2 follows two prior models: the Marauder and the Marauder Mini. It offers up to a staggering 10,000 lumens of brightness, which is 3,000 more lumens than the first Mini model.

It features five lighting configurations: a floodlight mode, a spotlight mode, and the Marauder series’ first simultaneous Spot+Flood mode, allowing both beams to run at the same time. A new side lamp lets the light act as a table lamp or tent light, and a red light mode also protects your vision when you need to illuminate your surroundings at night.
Controls

The controls may seem slightly complex at first, but once I got the hang of them, I was quickly able to reach my desired light settings. Many Olight lights require you to perform the correct sequence of button presses to toggle between the settings, and that’s also the case here.
A sliding switch on the front lets you select between flood mode, spot+flood mode, and spot mode. With your mode selected, hold the power button for one second to unlock the controls. Then, press the power button twice in a row to activate the light.
Around the power button, you’ll also find a rotating dial, which controls the brightness in your current setting. Around that is a separate dial that indicates your output setting between flashlight, side light, and red light modes.
- Flood Mode: 10,000 lumens, 270m throw
- Spot Mode: 1,350 lumens, 750m throw
- Spot+Flood Mode: 8,000 lumens, 700m throw
- Red Light Mode: 500 lumens, 120m throw (1-lumen moonlight mode)
- Side Light: 200 lumens, 22m throw

Runtime

Since there are so many different light settings, your runtime will vary significantly depending on which mode you’re in. Like many lights that reach high lumen numbers, you also have to account for time limitations that protect the battery and tool from overheating. In the case of the Maurader Mini 2, it will hold its 10,000-lumen output for about 2 minutes before dropping down to 2,500 lumens.
The 7,500 mAh battery is larger than we saw in the previous two Marauder flashlights, offering extended runtime (up to 150 days). There’s an LED battery meter on the side of the control dials to keep track of your runtime.
Here are the high and low runtime specs for each mode:
- Floodlight:
- 10,000 → 2500 lumens: 2+90 minutes
- 1.5 lumens (Moonlight mode): 50 days
- Spotlight:
- 1350 → 600 → 400 lumens: 4+170+50 minutes
- 0.5 lumens (Moonlight mode): 95 days
- Floodlight+Spotlight Mode:
- 8000 → 1800 lumens: 2+120 minutes
- 2 lumens (Moonlight mode): 40 days
- Red Light:
- 400 → 120 → 40 lumens: 2+5+10 hours
- 1 lumen (Moonlight mode) 35 days
- Side Light:
- 200 → 100 → 30 lumens: 3+3+11 hours
- 0.5 lumens (Moonlight mode): 150 days
Olight Marauder Mini 2 Flashlight Design

The Marauder Mini 2 boasts an IPX8 ingress rating, making it able to withstand full immersion in up to one meter of water for up to 30 minutes. For the outdoor crowd, this is a big advantage in unpredictable weather conditions. It also means that a quick rinse-off is no big deal if you happen to drop the light and it gets dirty. The light carries no specific dust protection rating.
A leathered texture on the handle helps you keep a secure grip, with subtle contours provided for your fingers.
Both ends also feature a flat edge, letting you stand it up on either side. Olight even went the extra mile to ensure the flashlight won’t roll when it’s laid down. Protruding edges make it less likely to roll away.
Size and Weight
Don’t let the “Mini” designation fool you—this is a hefty flashlight. It weighs around 1 pound, which is around the same as the previous version. However, it’s around a half a pound lighter than the original Marauder flashlight.
The size, coupled with the light output and other performance metrics, makes it ideal for outdoor and recreational use for serious hobbyists.
Unlike the previous two models, the Olight Marauder Mini 2 comes in a hard-shell latching storage case. Inside is a foam cutout to fit your flashlight snugly during transport.
Charging

The Marauder Mini 2 can recharge via two methods. You can either use the included USB-C cable or, if you already own another Olight light that came with a charger, you can also hook it onto your existing MCC magnetic cable.
Interestingly, the included USB-C cable doubles as a flashlight lanyard. I’ve never seen this type of design before, so I originally wondered if it didn’t include a charger at all. I have to say, this is one of my favorite innovations in the design of this flashlight.
However, be sure not to lose the latch, as that’s the only part that turns it back into a lanyard. In future updates, it would be interesting to see if Olight can improve this by leaving the latch attached while it’s in cord form.
Colorways
For now, there are three colorways for the Marauder Mini 2. You have the choice between orange, blue, and black. The model we received is the orange colorway. It’s vibrant like the other Olight flashlights we’ve reviewed in the past. Each colorway carries the same $219 price point.
Olight Marauder Mini 2 Flashlight Price
This flashlight retails for $219.99, and you can find it on Amazon or directly through Olight. This model comes in a hard shell case and includes a lanyard/charging cord. Olight backs your purchase with a lifetime warranty.
The Bottom Line
The Marauder Mini 2 isn’t just a “throw it in the drawer and forget about it until an emergency” type of light. Especially at $219, it’s a purpose-built tool for rugged applications and outdoor fanatics. 10,000 lumens is an impressive output for a flashlight—we haven’t even seen many cordless work lights put out that level of illumination.
Naturally, there are some runtime limitations on the highest brightness setting, but this light makes up for it with a lengthy beam throw and a larger battery than the last Mini model. If you’re still on the fence, Olight has a plethora of other flashlights that fit almost every need and budget.
