DeWalt recently announced five new trade-focused cordless tools, including the much-anticipated DeWalt 20V Max Threaded Rod Cutter. Set to be available in June, the new cordless tools are solely dedicated to filling a niche for electrical, mechanical, and plumbing professionals.
Each tool was designed to offer premium ergonomics, the capability to finished wide range of applications, and compatibility with the existing DeWalt 20V MAX system. There is also an innovative on board reporting system built into several of the tools that should offer additional confidence in crimping and pressing applications.
DeWalt 20V Max Threaded Rod Cutter (DCS350)
Electricians, mechanics, and plumbers will find the DeWalt 20V Max Threaded Rod Cutter a handy upgrade from corded options. This tool is capable of quickly and cleanly cut a range of threaded rod sizes such as 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch mild steel rods and 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch stainless steel rods. It offers a four-sided rotatable cutting die and eliminates fast moving cutting blades or wheels, which tend to bind up when cutting or trimming threaded rod. In addition, the Threaded Rod Cutter is part of DeWalt’s Perform & Protect line of power tools — designed to provide a high level of control, dust containment, or low vibration, without sacrificing performance.

DeWalt 20V Max U-Type Died Crimper (DCE300)
The DeWalt 20V Max U-Type Died Crimper is specifically for electricians. It features DeWalt’s Crimp Connect System, which is an intelligent on-board reporting system that can report and print the date, time, force, and successful crimp cycles completed as well as the tool’s calibration and service history. It also features a 270-degree pivoting head that allows the crimper to maneuver in tight spaces, while its forward/reverse trigger switch provides one-handed control of the crimping operation.

The DeWalt 20V Max Dieless Crimper shared the same features with the DeWalt 20V Max U-Type Died Crimper. It has the Crimp Connect built-in reporting system, an LED panel, LED work light, and should strap included along with the capacity to crimp #8 – 750 MCM Cu/ 1000 MCM Al. Aside from these common features, the Dieless Crimper offers a universal 4 pusher design. Its 360-degree rotating head has been designed to minimize user error when crimping smaller cable. It is equipped with a forward/reverse trigger to provide one-handed control of the crimping operation.

This tool is specifically for plumbing and mechanical tradesmen. The DeWalt 20V Max Press Tool is capable of pressing pipe fittings from 1/2 inch to 4 inches in copper and stainless steel pipe as well as being compatible with a wide range of crimping heads and attachments for different materials and applications. Its head pivots 320 degrees to maneuver in tight spaces. Like the crimpers, the 20V Max Press Tool also comes equipped with Crimp Connect System, LED work light, LED panel, and shoulder strap.

Another new cutter dedicated for electrical industry is the DeWalt 20V Max Cable Cutter. It is capable of cutting up to 750 MCM Cu/1000 MCM Al along with as a full range of copper and aluminum cable. Its hardened steel cutting blade can be self-serviced and is replaceable. It comes equipped with a bright LED work light to help illuminate the cutting area. An inline forward/reverse switch offers quick and convenient operation.
