Ryobi’s New 18V Automotive Creeper Includes A Couple Of Bright Ideas!
Ryobi is no stranger to the automotive market, with several impact wrenches, ratchets, and other shop tools on its 18V platform. However, as a first to the brand’s battery-powered offerings, you can now pick up an automotive creeper that runs on the same batteries as the rest of your One+ tools. Better yet, the creeper transforms into a seat for other shop tasks! There’s more to the story than meets the eye, so I’m walking you through the Ryobi 18V creeper seat to paint the full picture.

The Ryobi PCL692 adjusts between an automotive creeper and a seat, letting you work at any angle in your shop or garage. Whether you’re under your vehicle for an oil change or beside it refitting a tire, you can easily transition the PCL692 into a variety of positions for any application.
To change from a flat creeper to a seat, you simply hold the side lever and pull up the top half of the frame to the seat position. The top cushion doubles as a creeper headrest and a seat backrest, and you can adjust it between five positions to your desired angle.
An 18V battery powers the dual LED lights on this creeper. Both lights feature flexible wires that allow for illumination at any angle. The light heads have a concentration dial that lets you focus the brightness, shining up to 800 lumens.
This model features storage for small hand tools and accessories. A Ryobi Link bin is also included, which attaches to the side rail to hold bits, small parts, and more.
Additionally, the PCL692’s cushions are resistant to chemicals, ensuring the material won’t get damaged or corroded around common automotive fluids.
Finally, a total of six (3)-inch caster wheels provide smooth mobility, making it easy to maneuver around your work area.
Ryobi 18V Dual-Function Creeper/Seat Price
This creeper retails for $159 as a bare tool at The Home Depot. There are currently no kit options, so be sure to pick up a battery and charger separately if you’re not already on Ryobi’s 18V system. Ryobi backs your purchase with a 3-year warranty.
Should You Buy It?
This is one of Ryobi’s more unique solutions on the 18V battery platform. Automotive creepers with LED work lights aren’t brand new, but Ryobi put a new spin on the traditional creeper design with the PCL692. The seat adjustment capabilities ensure a versatile experience both underneath and beside the vehicle you’re working on, and the onboard tool/accessory storage adds another layer of convenience.
If you’re a gearhead on Ryobi’s 18V platform, this is a versatile creeper that has several very real benefits and is worth bringing into your garage.
