The Festool RSC 18 cordless reciprocating saw has a stroke length of 1 1/2-inch. For cutting depths, it reaches up to 9 1/16 inches in wood and 6 7/8 inches in tubes and metal profiles. It can also cut into metal material up to 3/4-inch thick.

This tool features anti-vibration technology which helps reduce fatigue when you’re using it for long periods at a time. A variable speed trigger lets you adjust your speed to the job at hand, and additional reciprocating saw blades (sold separately) let you hone your performance to the material you’re working with.

This reciprocating saw weighs 9 pounds with the 5.0Ah battery that comes in the kit. Festool tells us they designed the tool to be robust to stand up to tough jobsite conditions.

When you need to cut all the way to the edge of your material, the RSC 18 lets you install the blade rotated 180°. This enables you to cut all the way to the wall, ceiling, or floor without the battery compartment getting in the way because of the tool’s orientation.

Blade changes are easy too— simply open the chuck and the blade pops out, which helps reduce contact with the blade.

As an added bonus, this reciprocating saw includes a dust extraction adapter so you can hook up your extractor hose and keep your work area cleaner.
