FlexiSpot C7 Max Ergonomic Office Chair Review

When it comes to an office chair, an absolutely key aspect of comfort is the ability to adjust it exactly to your needs. The FlexiSpot C7 Max exhibits more adjustability than any chair I’ve ever reviewed. It also provides the top-notch build quality and features I’d expect on an office chair in this price range. It should pair well with any of the FlexiSpot adjustable standing desks.

FlexiSpot C7 Max Office Chair Design

The C7 Max sports a unique design that looks almost skeletal, which is fitting because this chair is specifically crafted to comfortably seat almost any body type in any position. FlexiSpot made the entire backrest using a soft, high-elastic mesh. It promotes both durability and breathability, and you can adjust it vertically to lock into any of 5 different positions.

The seat is constructed with a very comfortable 0.2” Latex cushion. It uses a memory foam insert that’s firm while still having some give to it.

On the bottom of your chair, you’ll find your standard recline, height, and seat adjustment levers. You also get a nylon base and 5 rolling casters rated for up to 300 lbs. However, when it comes to the personalization on this chair, that’s about all that’s standard.

Adjustability, Adjustability, Adjustability

As I alluded to earlier, the amount of isolated adjustments on the FlexiSpot C7 Max chair can almost be overwhelming to someone used to a standard rocker. I’m going to do my best to walk you through all of them, starting at the top of the chair.

The headrest adjusts in 3 ways, giving you almost total control of how you’d like to support your head and upper body.

  • 5-Level height adjustment (Total Range of 2.36”)
  • Fine-tuned headrest angle
  • Wide range headrest angle

The armrests of the FlexiSpot C7 Max chair are also adjustable in a fashion I’ve never experienced before, something Flexispot calls 5D Armrests. You’ve got your typical vertical height adjustment, but where the C7 switches it up is the armrest pads and bodies. You can rotate the armrest body up to 240°, and the armrest pads have full 360° rotation for any seated position you could think of.

I also love the lumbar support on this chair, which automatically adjusts to the angle of your lower back without a button or a switch. Whether locked in while hunched over the keyboard editing video or leaning back to take a sip of coffee, the chair comfortably provides support.

With the C7 Max, you have the choice between footrest or no footrest. I opted for the no footrest option, but if that’s your style, it will cost you an additional $40.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, this chair is ideal for those who want a durable and personalizable chair without breaking the bank. You’ve got more control over the headrest, backrest, and armrests than any chair I’ve tested—and I’ve sat in quite a few over the years. You also benefit from an all-mesh build that’s both breathable and comfortable.

The Flexispot C7 Max has both black and grey colorways. Both retail for $399.99 in the base configuration and $449.99 if you’d like to add the footrest.
