The Greenworks 60V line has been the most successful, in our opinion. Their original 21-inch mower showed off some great performance levels, and now that we’re a couple of generations in, Greenworks is kicking it up a notch. Today, I’ll walk you through my experience with a close-up look at the latest Greenworks 21-inch Dual-Blade Self-Propelled Mower and share why this is such an incredible value.

Greenworks 21-inch Dual-Blade Self-Propelled Mower Mower Price
We don’t typically start with a conversation about price, but the deal Walmart is running on this mower is eye-opening.
For just $424, the kit includes the mower, two 5.0Ah batteries, and a rapid charger. Plus, there’s a 4-year tool and battery warranty.
At this price with those batteries, we haven’t seen any other mowers anywhere close to the value you get with this model. It’s something to keep in mind as you read the rest of the review.
Greenworks 21-inch Dual-Blade Self-Propelled Mower Performance
- Blade Speed: 2800-3200 RPMs
- Blade Tip Speed: 16,950 FPM
- Runtime: 60 min. (with kitted 8.0Ah battery)
- Blade Type: Dual stacked RazorCut
- Gas Equivalent: 160cc
- Recommended Lawn Size: 0.41 acre
Cutting Power
This self-propelled mower features a brushless motor that churns out a top blade speed of 3,200 RPMs and just under 17,000 FPM blade tip speed, allowing it to mulch, bag, and side-discharge with confidence. The side discharge doesn’t spread grass clippings as widely as a gas mower, but it’s effective as long as the grass isn’t too overgrown.
With that said, if you do need a little more power to get through thicker grass, Greenworks equipped this mower with a Turbo mode. Using this mode for the duration of your cut reduces the overall runtime, so I recommend only using it in short bursts as needed. Moreover, Turbo mode is great for gathering up seasonal leaves, so you can leaf the rake in the shed!
Razor Cut Blade System
This mower ships with Greenworks’ RazorCut multi-blade system. If you’re new to this kind of design, the upper blade takes the top off the grass before the lower blade finishes the job. It creates smaller clippings that mulch better, uses the bag more efficiently, side discharges more effectively, and leaves a cleaner cut than single-blade designs.
Runtime
Greenworks tells us to expect up to 60 minutes of continuous runtime when using the kitted 8.0Ah battery. We can confidently recommend this mower for lawns around 0.4 acres/17,500 sq ft in most conditions. If you’re mowing in ideal conditions, you can push it up to 0.5 acres/21,750 sq ft.
If you consistently mow more than that, I suggest upgrading to one of their larger models, like the 60V 25-inch lawn mower, to make life a little easier!
Greenworks 21-inch Dual-Blade Self-Propelled Mower Design Notes
- Model: Greenworks MO60L810
- Power Source: Greenworks 60V batteries
- Drive Type: Self-propelled RWD
- Deck Material: Steel
- Cutting Height: 0.75 – 4.0 inches (8 positions)
- Drive Speed: 1.6 – 3.4 MPH
Blade and Drive Controls
Rather than using the traditional dual presence bars to engage the self-propelled mode and blade, Greenworks opted for a pair of levers. They do work independently of each other, so you can hold down either or both sides to engage the blade and drive systems.
Compared to the dual metal bars on a lot of mowers, these levers require little effort to engage, making it a bit easier to use. The angled handles in combination with two handle height settings allowed everyone on our testing team to find a comfortable grip position.
The self-propelled speed range is spot on, and it’s easy to control as you mow using the lever located in the center of the handle. Speeds range from 1.6 to 3.4 MPH, so you can dial it in to whatever’s comfortable. For me, I found that putting the lever right around the 3/4 mark was perfect.
We also love that the drive system and blades can be operated independently. This means you can use the self-propelled drive to get back to the barn without the blades messing up those beautiful stripes you worked so hard on!
21-Inch Steel Deck
Looking at the deck, not much has changed from a design standpoint, and for good reason. Greenworks is continuing to utilize their stamped steel deck, which adds to its overall durability. This does add a little extra weight compared to a poly deck, but since this model is self-propelled, it really isn’t a big deal.
Deck Height Adjustment
This model features a single-point deck adjustment lever, making it extremely easy to make fast and accurate changes to your cutting height. Greenworks gives you 8 positions to choose from, ranging from 0.75 inches up to 4 inches, making it ideal for most grass species.
Vertical Storage
The Greenworks 60V lawn mower improves on typical vertical storage features significantly with its handle mechanism. Rather than having to bend over to the base of the mower to release or adjust the handle, Greenworks features two latches toward the top of the side bars. Simply pull the latches up with the fingerholds, move the handle to where you want it, and release. The handle locks into place.
The same mechanism lets you completely fold it over for vertical storage.
Additional Features
- LED headlights
- Compatible with all Greenworks 60V batteries
The Bottom Line
Greenworks did a great job with the design of this 21-inch Dual-Blade Self-Propelled Mower. It’s a good all-around option for weekly mowing no matter what type of grass you have. I also love that Greenworks has the confidence to drive a dual-blade system, allowing for a cleaner, more efficient cut. So, if you’re on the hunt for a quality, no-nonsense battery-powered mower, you won’t find a better value than this.
