HART’s first phase of lawn care equipment met the needs of homeowners with small to medium-size lawns with a focus on a low cost of entry. In the latest phase, the brand is turning its attention to higher performance. We got our hands on the HART 650 CFM leaf blower to see just how far its come.

HART 650 CFM Leaf Blower Performance

Blowing Force

HART packs a max of 650 CFM and 160 MPH into a package powered by a 40V battery and driven by a brushless motor. Those are much higher numbers than we saw with the first phase of HART’s lawn care line.

HART 40V Cordless 650 CFM Leaf Blower Review

Turning to our force meter, we hit 9.7 Newtons in high and 16.3 Newtons in turbo using the concentrator nozzle. Taking the nozzle off, it pushed a bit higher blowing force, settling in at 9.8 Newtons in high a 17.1 Newtons in turbo. Considering the 550 CFM blower from last season hit just 14.0 Newtons, it’s a big improvement and brings HART up to a very relevant performance level compared to other brands.

Noise Level

The other side of the coin is that HART designed this blower as part of the Ultra Quiet series. Where many battery-powered blowers we’ve tested run in the mid-80s to low 90s for decibel readings, HART registered just 72 decibels in high and 76 decibels in turbo. Those measurements are based on A-weighted, slow response and taken from our operator’s ear.

Even for a battery-powered blower, the HART 650 CFM leaf blower is very quiet. Only Ryobi’s 730 CFM blower has been close to the same level, measuring the exact same levels.

Runtime

The kit comes with a 5.0Ah battery, so that’s what we used for our runtime tests. In high, the blower ran continuously for 20 minutes, 23 seconds. With turbo mode, it was 12 minutes, 5 seconds. For most post-mowing cleanup, that’s more than enough runtime. When it comes to corraling leaves, it’s just a matter of how much area you’re hoping to cover.
