The Leatherman Charge Plus TTI is one of the more feature heavy multi-tools in their lineup, with a total of 19 tools. It weighs in at 8.9 ounces and measures 4 inches in the folded position. One thing I really love is that in spite of how many tools it includes, the Charge+ still fits really well in my medium-size hands.
The Charge Plus comes with a variety of blades to fit just about any situation. Leatherman equipped this multi-tool with a S30V knife blade and a 420HC serrated knife for general cutting, carving, and cooking tasks. The serrated blade also has an integrated cutting hook that can come in handy during emergency situations.
Sitting across from the serrated blade, there’s a 2 7/8-inch saw. This compact saw has two rows of teeth that quickly chew through small branches with ease.
The folding pliers are one of the main focal points of this multi-tool. Leatherman includes both needlenose and standard pliers, as well as replaceable wire cutters.
The Charge Plus has three different bit drivers on this multi-tool—one small reversible Phillips/slotted driver, a folding medium slotted bit, and Leatherman’s larger flat bit driver. This tool also comes with an assortment of bits and a bit holder that fits inside the carrying case.
To round out the feature set, Leatherman includes a ruler, bottle opener, two-sided file, a removable pocket clip, a removable lanyard loop, and spring-loaded scissors. All the implements on this multi-tool, apart from the pliers, feature a locking mechanism to increase safety and effectiveness. Locking them into place allows you to put pressure on the tools while safely completing the job, before manually unlocking the tool to stow it away.
