Milwaukee M18 Fuel Magnetic Drills

Milwaukee M18 Fuel Magnetic Drill

Milwaukee M18 Fuel Magnetic Drills look to replace corded models with battery-powered solutions that ditch the cord. For years, the market has been shifting to more compact magnetic drills. Milwaukee delivers a solution for the user who has limited access to power, drills vertically or overhead, and regularly encounters thin metal. The Milwaukee cordless mag drills deliver the performance and run-time you need while eliminating the cord.

2,000 Pounds Holding Strength

Milwaukee M18 Fuel magnetic drills boast 2,000 pounds of holding strength. These drills use permanent magnet motors that won’t quit when the battery runs out. That protects overhead and vertical users from accidents. They’ve also got the power and run-time to get through forty 13/16″ holes on a single 5.0 Ah battery.

Chuck and Accessory Design

Making a cordless mag drill has more to do than just swapping out a corded motor for a battery-powered model. Milwaukee also improved the chuck and accessory design. With most magnetic drills, cutting accessories are held in place with two set screws that need to be tightened down with a wrench. Tools often get lost and screws get stripped out. That leaves the tool unusable.

Milwaukee equips their cordless mag drills with a 3/4-inch Weldon quick-change chuck. That makes accessory changes fast and easy. They also come packaged with a 3/4-inch Weldon to 1/2-inch chuck adapter.

You can also adjust the height of the motor head, tool-free. This lets users quickly switch between annular cutters and twist bits.

Conclusion

Milwaukee looks to have found a way to produce an effective cordless mag drill and managed to improve the design. These tools are more compact and efficient than traditional models.
