Shell Portable Jump Starter Keeps Emergency Automotive Situations Safe

We get the opportunity to use jump starters from time to time around here—and we love them. One of the things we’ve learned along the way is that it’s better to have one and not need it than to need one and not have it. After all, you never know when your car battery will decide to take a breather, and you don’t want to find yourself in a position where you absolutely have to rely on someone else to give you a jump. The Shell Portable Jump Starter has all the tools you need to safely do that job all by yourself.

The Big Deal

The Shell Portable Jump Starter lets you jump-start a drained battery safely within seconds. The process is simple and relatively fool-proof. It works with any engine up to a 7.0L gas and a 3.0L diesel engine. Basically, you can use this jump pack with cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, lawnmowers, and boats.

Basically, you’ll plug the cables into the side of the jump starter—and there’s only one way to do that so you won’t have to worry about accidentally reversing the polarity. Next, attach the alligator clamps to the corresponding colors on your battery terminals. A green status indicator light on the side of the cable connector lights up, letting you know that you can safely hit (or turn) the ignition on your car. After the engine starts, you simply disconnect the clamps from your battery and unplug the cables from the jump starter.

The Shell Jump Starter also features 10 levels of protection. Even if you aren’t electrically savvy, you can safely jump your battery without frying yourself. It comes with protection against sparking, over-discharging, reverse polarity, reverse charging, over current, short circuits, high temperature, over-voltage, low voltage, and clamp connection protection.

While most jump starters also operate as power banks to recharge phones or tablets in a pinch, the Shell Jump Starter features wireless charging (via induction) for your wireless-capable phones. You just have to turn on the power bank and plop your phone down on top of it to start the juice flowing into your phone.
