Makita 18V LXT cordless heat guns are the company’s solution to many of these tasks. Take a closer look at what they have to offer.

Makita 18V Cordless Heat Gun: The Big Deal

These tools are Makita’s first venture into cordless heat guns and it’s no surprise to find them on the extensive 18V LXT line. As we mentioned above, there are two models for you to choose from: the Makita XGH01 and the Makita XGH02. They both obtain a maximum air temperature of 1,022° F and you can expect to get up to 30 minutes of continuous runtime using a 6.0Ah battery.

Other than a very slight size difference, the only notable distinction between the two is that the XGH02 has variable temperature and speed controls. Both have a maximum airflow speed of 7.1 CFM, while the XGH02 adds a 4.2 CFM low speed.

The other big difference is that the XGH02 has six levels of temperature adjustment, making it your best bet if you want to use it for a variety of different applications.

The Makita XGH01 cordless heat gun retails for $164 as a bare tool, and the XGH02 variable temperature heat gun retails for $179, also bare. Your purchase includes a 3-year limited warranty.

In our opinion, spending the extra $15 to have a tool with as much variability as the XGH02 is a no-brainer, but if you’re someone who doesn’t need different temperature or speed settings, the XGH01 is a perfectly fine option.
