Flex Adds Its First Heat Gun to the Cordless 24V Platform
Heat guns have tons of practical uses. From softening paint and putty to heat-shrinking tubing and connectors, they’re more versatile than they may seem at first. In recent years, several brands have released cordless heat guns to put up some serious competition against corded and butane-powered models. Today, I’m looking at Flex’s first heat gun ahead of its release to see if it earns a place in your tool arsenal.

Flex 24V Heat Gun Performance

The Flex FX6321-Z is the brand’s first heat gun on the 24V platform. It features two temperature settings, reaching a maximum temperature of 986°F on high and 500°F on low. According to Flex, it reaches operating temperature in under 10 seconds.
For airflow, this heat gun achieves 7.8 CFM at the top end.
Using a 5.0Ah battery (sold separately), you can get up to 20 minutes of runtime on high and 40 minutes on low.

On the design side, the FX6321-Z weighs around 1.4 pounds as a bare tool. It measures 7 inches in length, around the size of a standard cordless drill.
The power select switch is located at the top of the tool, letting you choose between the two temperature settings. There’s also a trigger lock-on button for hands-free use. Additionally, thanks to its flat back panel, you can set the tool facing upwards for jobs that require you to use both hands.
The Flex 24V Heat Gun includes three nozzles for various applications: a reflector nozzle, a slit nozzle, and a reduction nozzle.
Finally, Flex included an LED work light that turns on when you pull the trigger, ideal for low-light use.
