GearWrench Bolt Biter Nut Drivers

Gearwrench Applies Bolt Biter Design to Nut Drivers

We’ve seen the Gearwrench Bolt Biter sockets as well as the Crescent Bolt Biter extraction tools. It came as no surprise to see the Gearwrench Bolt Biter Nut Drivers arrive for use with impact drivers. In our experience, the Bolt Biters have worked really well to break free rusted and rounded-out fasteners.

Gearwrench on the Bolt Biter Bit Sets

All across the extraction tool category, we find pros struggling to remove damaged fasteners. And every time we apply our innovative Bolt Biter design in a new way—like with our new nut drivers—we see the same results. Problem solved.

Bolt Biter Nut Drivers: The Big Deal

Gearwrench has taken the Bolt Biter design and placed it on the end of a 1/4″ drive shank. Now, you can use these accessories more easily with your best impact driver. The shaft features a Torsion Zone that the brand claims will provide the bits 50x the lifespan when using the bits in high-torque applications.

Otherwise, Gearwrench hasn’t changed much between the impact socket set and these nut extractor and driver sets. You still get a tapered flute that seats onto and grips virtually any nut or bolt, no matter how rusted or otherwise rounded-out. The dual-sized socket design lets you work with both SAE and Metric fasteners (though you can pick up individual pieces in both formats).

Bi-Directional for Reusing Nuts and Bolts When Needed

This bi-directional design lets you both tighten and loosen these troublesome fasteners with ease with what Gearwrench claims is 5x the gripping force. And, while it might not be ideal, Bolt Biter Nut Drivers let you reuse a damaged fastener in a pinch.

Pricing

You can expect the Gearwrench Bolt Biter Nut Extractor and Driver Sets to become available around the end of August. Look for them anywhere that sells Gearwrench tools. We found the sets, as well as individual pieces (in both metric and SAE), available for pre-order at Acme Tools.

With the sets, you have a choice between an 8-piece set (86170) and a 16-piece (86171) set. You can expect the smaller set to run you $49.99, while the larger set should only set you back $99.99.
