The Makita GSH05 6 1/2-inch circular saw features a brushless motor that delivers no-load speeds up to 5500 RPM, which the brand tells us is up to 40% faster than other saws in the same class. It can perform up to 290 cuts in 2×10 lumber per charge using a 40V max XGT 4.0Ah battery.

For cutting capacity, you’re looking at 2 1/4 inches at 90° and 1 5/8 inches at 45°. It also bevels from 0° to 50° with positive stops at 22.5°, 45°, and 50°.

Additionally, this tool features Makita’s Auto-Start Wireless System, which uses Bluetooth technology to wirelessly power on and off an equipped dust extractor as you work, powering on when you turn on your tool and vice versa.

This circular saw is 11 inches long, and when using the kitted 40V 4.0Ah battery, it has a weight of 7.9 pounds. Its base, blade guard, and blade cover feature a die-cast magnesium construction for a durable, lightweight design.

This saw can also stand up to harsh jobsite conditions thanks to XGT technology, which provides increased dust and water resistance.
