Materials and Construction
Ox starts with 600D nylon for the bag’s material and sews it into a 15-inch x 8.5-inch zip-top bag. It’s an abrasive-resistant material that can handle carrying blades and the weight of power tools without a problem.
Some bags use higher weaves, such a 1000D, and are more durable because of it. Those bags are also more expensive by a long shot.
The bag is held together with a combination of single and double stitching. Around the top, there’s a metal insert sewn in that offers some rigidity and helps the top stay wide open. The bottom has a base that’s somewhat flexible while stiff enough to add rigidity there as well.
It all comes together in a bag that weighs just 2.0 pounds including the padded shoulder strap.
Looking over the construction, there are no obvious areas of concern. The most likely point of failure is the material itself when it finally wears years down the road. That’s not an issue with the design, just the nature of the material.
Pockets and Storage
Ten medium-size pockets in the 3.5 to 4.5-inch range ring the outside of the bag. They’re capable of holding a variety of hand tools, meters, smaller tape measures, electrical tape, and more.
The interior of the bag is bulk storage with no additional pockets.
