Replacement faces and mallet cover

Replaceable Striking Faces

Looking at the business end, you’ll find a replaceable milled face. Just loosen the T45 Torx bolt on the inside of the head to remove it. This hammer comes with a standard milled face but you can easily swap it for a curved face if that’s your preference. It’s also compatible with Stiletto’s removable mallet face covers, eliminating the need to carry a separate mallet.

As we’ve seen on many modern framing hammers, the Tibone has a deep magnetic nail starter. What I really like is that the nail head is nearly 100% in contact with the hammer head. This helps prevent the nail from slipping upon contact with the wood. The nail starter fits everything from 8D nails to 16D nails, and even Duplex nails.

Like the previous model, the Stiletto Tibone III, this hammer has a straight claw and a 180° nail puller on the left side of the head. This gives you the power to easily pull larger 16D nails with ease.

Replaceable Colored Handle Grips

The biggest upgrade from Stiletto’s previous framing hammers is the replaceable handle cover grips. There are 6 colors to choose from. There’s the black handle that comes standard with the hammer, plus you can get blue, orange, green, yellow, and pink. This is a good way to personalize your tools or even color code in order to keep track of them on the jobsite.

Swapping handles is easy. Just remove the T25 Torx bolt at the base, slide the grip off, and then slip the new handle on. Lastly, re-install the bolt and tighten until snug.

If you’re not familiar with Stiletto hammers, the price tag may be a little shocking, but give it a few swings, and you’ll start to understand. The grip shape and angle are very comfortable, and the lightweight titanium design helps reduce fatigue over the course of a day.
