The EGO LBX1000 Commercial Leaf Blower Offers up to 1000 CFM
It wasn’t that long ago that we had serious doubts that cordless blowers could offer true gas replacement for professionals. EGO launched its second-generation commercial blower in 2023 with a backpack leaf blower to show us how wrong we were. Now, EGO is upping the ante even more, this time with a handheld model. I’m aiming to help pro landscapers decide if the EGO Commercial 1000 CFM Leaf Blower can leave your gas can in the dust.

The EGO LBX1000 blower is a commercial model aimed at professional landscapers and other lawn care pros. Its brushless motor is powered by a 56V Power+ battery.
This model isn’t EGO’s only commercial-grade blower aimed at the professional market—there’s also a backpack blower on the roster. However, the handheld model actually edges out the backpack blower’s top air volume levels by around 200 CFM.
The LBX1000 offers a gas equivalence of 60cc, which is the same rating as its backpack counterpart. Does this indicate that the handheld model is a true gas replacement? We think so, especially considering the maximum 32 Newtons of push force (compared to the 26N in the backpack blower).
For runtimes, EGO estimates up to 100 minutes on the lowest setting using a 10.0Ah 56V battery. With the same configuration, it can run for up to 33 minutes on high or 20 minutes on turbo. While a 10.0Ah battery will deliver the runtime pro landscapers need, there’s a significant trade-off in weight.
EGO’s 56V batteries are on the beefier side, even for the small-capacity packs. The 10.0Ah battery will tack on an extra 7.7 pounds to the blower’s weight, almost doubling the total working weight. You can use a lower-capacity battery, but note that this model runs at a reduced power level if you equip a battery under 4.0Ah.

The EGO LBX1000 commercial blower doesn’t stray too far from the norm when it comes to design. It weighs around 8 pounds for the bare tool, which is quite a bit heftier than EGO’s most powerful residential handheld blower, which weighs just under 5 pounds.
As mentioned above, this model also features an auxiliary handle. Most handheld blowers don’t have this design element. It was a good move for EGO to include an extra handle to offset the weight of the 56V battery while you work, enabling easier two-handed use.

This blower retails for $349 as a bare tool. There are currently no kit options available, so be sure to pick up an EGO 56V battery and charger if you’re not already on the Power+ system. EGO backs your purchase with a 2-year commercial-use warranty when you register within 90 days of purchase.
Should You Buy It?
This is EGO’s strongest blower (at the time of writing) by a long shot. Not only that, its top 1000 CFM specs are virtually unheard of from a handheld blower from any major lawn care brand. For professional landscapers looking for a commercial-use leaf blower that offers true gas replacement, this model is more capable than any, based on EGO’s reported specs.
However, if you’re a homeowner on the EGO Power+ system, it’s likely you don’t need this amount of blowing force for your normal lawn upkeep. One of the brand’s many residential blowers will do the trick just fine. For top-level residential blowing performance, the EGO 880 CFM LB8800 delivers more than enough clearing power.
