DeWalt Cordless Fencing Stapler – 20V and No Gas!
Having reviewed the excellent Paslode cordless fence post stapler, we wondered when a battery-only model would arrive. Users can now use the Dewalt Cordless Fencing Stapler (DCFS950) to install various types of agricultural fencing. Following the DeWalt 20V cable stapler, the company seems to be on a roll.
The new 20V tool uses no gas and works on woven wire, high tensile, barbed wire, deer fencing, field fencing, and more.
Insert a single DeWalt 20V Max battery, and this cordless fencing stapler can drive up to 590 staples per charge. They equate that to around 1,400 feet of fencing on a single battery. They came up with that by estimating 5 staples per post and 12 feet of separation.
This tool not only makes the job easier, but it should also save a TON of time.
Similar to the DCN21PLB cordless framing nailer, the DeWalt DCFS590 includes a tool-free stall release right on the top of the tool.
You get a 35-staple capacity in the DeWalt DCFS950 magazine with a multi-angle contact trip for accurate staple placement. It accepts 9-gauge DeWalt fencing staples at .157 inches in diameter and length options of 1-1/2, 1-3/4, and 2-inch lengths. The 3-speed 20V tool also uses a tool-free depth of drive, has easy mode selection, and quick jam release.
As you might expect from DeWalt, the fencing stapler incorporates a brushless motor for long life.

DeWalt DCFS950 Conclusion
At 8.8 pounds without a battery, this is no pin nailer. In fact, the DeWalt 20V Cordless Fencing Stapler will slightly pass the Paslode once you install a 5 Ah battery pack. While not lightweight, it should still save considerable time. I’ll carry around a heavier tool for that.
The tool should arrive any day now and will come kitted with two 5.0Ah batteries (DCFS950P2) for around $799. You can also pick up the bare tool (DCFS950B) for $599. The DeWalt 20V fencing stapler includes a three-year limited warranty, one-year free service contract, and 90-day money-back guarantee.
