Makita Cordless Rotary Hammer Kits Make Changes to Be Table 1 Compliant Out of the Box

Several of Makita’s brushless rotary hammers will now come OSHA Table 1 compliant out of the box. They make it happen by including a dust case that has an integrated filter cleaning mechanism and a HEPA filter. Now you can drill and chip away without worrying about other methods of staying under the PEL.

To comply with OSHA’s Table 1 rule for concrete drilling applications, the dust extractor must include a filter cleaning mechanism. Some applications also require a HEPA filter instead of the standard filters that come with many extractors.

Makita has three onboard extractors to help meet those requirements. The DX08 and DX09 are ready to go as-is. The DX01 doesn’t come with a filter cleaning mechanism, but you can swap out the dust case with part #199588-6 to add it.

The dust extractors are powered by separate motors to allow the rotary hammer to maintain peak drilling performance. They are activated by the tool and provide a delay to help capture any remaining dust when you power down the tool.

Transparent dust containers help you easily see when you need to empty them and the DX08/09 models feature LED lights.
