A few years back, my young son received an electric scooter for Christmas, and let me tell ya, he was thrilled! Ever since then, I’ve had my eyes peeled for one of my very own. Now, I’ve got my hands on the NAVEE GT3 Max Electric Scooter to see what it has to offer for daily commuters and casual riders alike!
NAVEE GT3 Max Electric Scooter Overview

Rider Capacity and Speed
The NAVEE GT3 Max can support up to 265 pounds, which is pretty impressive when compared to the competition! It’s powered by a brushless 400W motor (nominal) and only weighs 49 pounds. This scooter three speed modes, with a top speed of 20 mph on level ground. NAVEE estimates you’ll get a maximum range of 47 miles, but keep in mind that your total range is dependent on which mode you select.
- Walking Mode: 3 mph
- Standard Mode: 12 mph
- Sport Mode: 20 mph
In Walking mode, the scooter can match someone on a brisk walk. You can use this mode when someone wants to join you on a walk but canโt due to a physical limitation.
The Standard mode tops out around 12 mph and lets you get comfortable with the scooter. Itโs also great for younger drivers, so they donโt easily ride beyond their skill range.
Switching to Sport mode, you can reach speeds up to 20 mphโwhich feels quite fast on a scooter. This was the mode I spent most of the review in.
Design and Portability
Compared to other electric scooters on the market, the NAVEE GT3 Max falls into a familiar design structure. The T-shaped handle bars feature some nice rubber overmolding for added comfort and safety, and the LCD display is bright and easy to read in direct sunlight.

Folding the GT3 Max for storage and transport is a piece of cake. First, you release the steering column using a latch, allowing it to fold forward. Then, a secondary latch mechanism on the bell secures it to the rear fender. Itโs a secure and thoughtful approach and only takes a matter of seconds.
Additional Highlights

- Folding Kickstand: A spring loaded kickstand folds down for easy parking
- Tubeless Tires: Solid 10-inch puncture proof tires deliver a worry-free commute and longer lifespan compare to traditional tubed tires
- Dual Braking System: Front drum and rear EABS brakes cut braking distance by 22% and contribute to regenerative charging system
- LED Headlights and Indicators: 2 watt LED headlight, LED brake light, and handlebar mounted turn signals ensure you can see and be seen
- LCD Display: The LCD display gives real time data on speed, remaining battery life, and speed mode
- Front and Rear Cylinder Suspension: Four-point piston suspension absorbs more impact over rough or uneven terrain, delivering a smoother ride and improved control
- App Connectivity: Pair this scooter via Bluetooth to the NAVEE app to access tracking info, specs, and custom settings

Driving The NAVEE GT3 Max Scooter
Nothing quite matches the thrill of flying down a paved road at 20 mph on an electric scooter, and as a guy who grew up in the era of the Razor scooter, this was a blast! The Sport mode delivers a surprising amount of torque and a zippy throttle response that really gets your blood pumping. During my testing, I managed to travel from my home to our office (2.8 miles) in just under 12 minutes…not too shabby if you ask me!

If you’re new to electric scooters, I have to recommend that you resist the temptation to jump right into Sport mode. Starting with Standard mode allows you to get a good feel for the controls, throttle response, and general handling of the GT3 Max while still letting you feel the breeze in your hair. This is also the best mode for urban commuting where there may be pedestrians or other obstacles to avoid.
While I didn’t have much use for the Walking mode during my testing, I can see the appeal. The slower speed allowed me to navigate tight spaces without needing to feather the throttle. If you find yourself riding down a packed sidewalk or narrow path, I recommend dropping down to this setting to optimize safety for yourself and others.
You can switch modes either before you start or as you drive by double-clicking the power button on the throttle.
The Bottom Line
Overall, the NAVEE GT3 Max delivers a rock-solid balance of performance, comfort, and everyday practicality. Its three riding modes make it approachable for beginners while still offering enough speed and power to keep experienced riders grinning. The thoughtful folding mechanism, bright display, and long-lasting tubeless tires show that NAVEE put real consideration into daily usabilityโnot just flashy specs.
After spending time with it on commutes and casual rides, itโs clear that the NAVEE GT3 Max is more than just a fun toy; itโs a genuinely capable electric scooter that can handle real-world travel with ease. If youโve been looking for a grown-up version of that childhood thrill ride, this scooter is absolutely worth a spot on your shortlist.
You can snag the NAVEE GT3 Max for $699.99 and it comes with a 2-year warranty on the scooter and a 1-year battery warranty.
