Rockler Shows Off New Router Table Cabinet

Rockler Shows Off New Router Table Cabinet

Rockler Woodworking and Hardware just came out with a new Router Table Cabinet constructed from galvanized steel. It has twin doors, a built-in system for adding a drawer or shelves for storage, and a dust collection system that is worked into the cabinet itself. The cabinet takes nearly any conventional router and produces a poor man’s shaper, creating an effective workstation that has room for storage, and internal dust collection. There are even options for attaching economical shelves and drawers which can be purchased (or better yet – made) separately. What do you get? A complete router station that houses your tool while also storing router bits, jigs, sanding supplies and other tools. As you’d expect, Rockler placed pre-drilled holes in the top of the steel cabinet which make it compatible with accessories from all Rockler and name brand router tables.

Other unique features of the all-steel Rockler Router Cabinet include:

  • Convenient internal dust bucket provides a cleaner work surface by creating a vacuum below the table to significantly reduce the amount of dust and wood chips generated by routing operations
  • A recessed 4″ dust port in the back of the cabinet minimizes the clearance needed when connecting to a dust collection system
  • Heavy-duty construction gives the cabinet the weight and stability of a stationary shaper, minimizing vibration and increasing the chances of getting consistent cutting results

This new product seems like it would go well with Rockler’s Benchdog Cast Iron Router Table Top (SKU: 25574) which would give it a truly gutsy work surface. Drawers or shelves may be added with the purchase of Drawer Accessory Kits, (which you can buy separately). Complementing its many conveniences, the cabinet is also pre-tapped for adding an optional Router Safety Switch.
