The Problem: Cold Weather

Winter

If you work in cold weather climates, you know the trouble winter brings with it. Lithium-ion batteries don’t work or charge as well and caulk becomes impossible to apply, making an already uncomfortable situation even more frustrating. Here are some stats to consider:

  • At 0°F (-18°C), typical lithium-ion batteries deliver 50% of their maximum potential
  • Charging lithium-ion batteries below 40°F (5°C) isn’t recommended
  • Charging lithium-ion batteries below 32°F (0°C) can cause permanent damage to the battery
  • The recommended storage temperature for lithium-ion batteries is 50°F (10°C) or higher
  • Lithium-ion batteries self-discharge faster at temperatures below 50°F (10°C)
  • Lithium-ion batteries start flatlining around -4°F (-20°C)
  • Latex caulk can freeze at temperatures below 32°F (0°C)
  • Most caulks should be applied above 40°F (5°C) to improve application, adhesion, and curing

The Solution: FreezArmor Heated Tool Bag

It’s a Heat Source

Heating Pad

That’s where FreezArmor comes in. Heating pads inside the bag keep your batteries, caulk, and other temperature-sensitive gear in a warmer temperature so they’re ready to work as soon as you pull them out. In outside temperatures as low as -30°F (-34°C), the interior of the bag maintains a range of 50° – 70°F.

Using the heating function is simple—just plug it into a 120V outlet and game on! If the temperatures get high enough that you don’t need the temp assist, unplug it.

It’s a Tool Bag

Carrying

The bag itself looks very similar to other tool bags you may own. There’s bulk storage inside with enough space to store caulk tubes, high-capacity power tool batteries, or an entire compact combo kit. There’s even a mesh elastic top pocket for items you’d like to separate.

On the exterior, there are eight pockets on the sides. The front has a single pocket with a hook and loop closure, while the back has two.

The 600 Denier construction is designed to thrive on construction jobsites and holds up to 45 pounds. Even if you do manage to puncture or tear the material, the heating still works. The flexible heating plates fit in between the exterior and interior material and give the bag a rigidity that won’t flop in on itself when you have the lid open.
